Get after it, Pete! Dashing fellow such as yourself, you'd be perfect for this. Not to mention then you could also look into things like functionality, stretch, breathability, etc. One problem I personally tend to have with polo shirts since I'm 6'2" is that they're never long enough, so maybe you'd have some recommendation for slightly longer shirts while still keeping shorter sleeve length.

Pete, I have a few training aids and the one which has impacted my game the most was the cheapest ! I have a Swingyde like Fryer, an accustrike mat, a putting mirror (love it), a basic putting mat and the best one, a line I use to work on starting my putts online. Dropped at least 4 putts a round on average with starting the ball where I aim it ! Funny, who would have thought it !!

I remember the good old days of you two, plus carter and rick just having games of golf together. They ware class! I get the directions you’ve all gone in and will still continue to follow you all. Well done lads! From rick to his random entertainment, you with you’re down to earth attitude and awesome swing, Carter with his UAE suntan and Matt who i’d happily but a pint for... I thank you all for the many hours I’ve spent on KZfaq and the hours of terrible and fantastic golf entertainment I’ve had (that my golf game has actually benefited for).... I salute you all. 👍

One of my favorite ever training aids was a swing plane trainer made out of PVC pipes at a high school course I played at. Simple, stand in the circle and swing with the club touching the plane. I wish I had one at every driving range.

Been struggling with my irons for a long time & been for couple of lessons with local pro s without any real success.purchased tour strike trainer & initially couldn’t get ball to stay between arms as instructed , once I got the ball staying in place my striking has changed dramatically took a lot of balls hit to get the feeling of connection for me .

I only use one aid generally and that is a big sponge to put under my right heel to help start my hip turn. My local pro put me onto the use of it - put it in place; feel like my heel is crushing the sponge and that helps get my hip turn started. Cheers!

I just bought the Yupiteru GST - 7 BLE last week (¥13,000/£93). It is a monochrome display, digital Golf Swing Trainer (Japanese language only). It basically sits directly behind the ball (1-1½m) and just measures head and ball speeds in m/s, then calculates the smash factor and gives an estimated distance in yards based on the club you are using. It has Bluetooth capability and there's an app for the phone that shows some colored bar graphs for each club in each of the four measurements. The app also allows you to change the club quickly without touching the device. Two huge things missing are trajectory and ball spin, but it's a fun little gadget and easy to use.

I see the Scotty Cameron putter was working well for you today..... Typically, all of my clubs work that well for me each game...... My best training aid has been an alignment stick. I had terrible trouble hitting the ball straight and my son told me that I was hitting it exactly how I was aiming. The stick puts me straight in the fairway and is a great training aid. Love you and Rick playing together, it's a hoot......

My best training aids have been boxes of balls for putting gate drills, and an alignment stick on a stool behind me to stop the 'over the top' movement. Both worked great 😀 I did try that ball in the arms thing (tour striker?) during a lesson once, felt strange indeed, but the realisation of where my forearms are before & after impact was instant. Wouldn't use it on the course though, brave man...!

A good training aid I’ve used to good effect is the cardboard tube centre of a toilet roll, placed over the shaft of the club so it slides up and down from grip to club head freely, this helps to give you the feeling of club lag, smooth takeaway and follow through, and helps to eliminate casting your club, and in courage a smoother swing , from L to L so to speak, big plus there free.

I am a sucker for training aids! I have the watson hanger, planemate, tour angle 144, and a knockoff version of the swingyde I bought on ebay for $6, and a couple of cheap aligment sticks. And I use to have a smart ball. So far, the swingyde and hanger has helped me the most. The tour angle helped with chipping pretty well, and also just the cheap alignment sticks. And I have to admit, despite all the great reviews it gets, the planemate did not work for me really. I regret buying that one.

you honestly dont need training aids, your best training is repetition and isolation,. I watched a few videos, some of them several times. I broke them the swing down into segments and practiced part of the swing and I would practice that section. this includes the grip... I would grab and release the grip around 100 times. the take away I would practice again and again bring it up to the parallel point again and again (slowly then gradually increasing the speed). then I would work on another part again and again. I would still practice earlier parts leading up to what the current practice was. the closest to a training aid that I used was wooden dowels or some crappy golf club shafts when I was working on my take away and connection lines (as well as my setup/aim alignment). worked on exercises on isolating body motions and linking them with other motions. over the winter I used a broken handle of a golf club so I didnt hit my ceiling (after ingraining the take away and grip). warm weather time I would swing the club a couple hundred times a day, no golf ball, just a golf tee stuck fully in the ground, or sometimes those cheap wiffle balls that I would hit into a blanket tacked to the side of my home. I went from 90-95ish swing speed to 120 avg swing speed, from a extreme slice to a minor fade, and could bring in some draw to shape the shots. next I took a blanket laying it on the ground at one end of my yard, using about 100 cheap refurbished balls, chipped onto the blanket, then I worked on a 5 gallon bucket at close range slowly increasing the range. in the evenings I would watch my TV programs and put across my living room either into a taped off section (lag putt work) or into a small box about the size of a golf hole. when I went fishing/camping I would take some clubs, wiffle balls, and a blanket to practice my swing with. in just under a year (as I started early winter to the end of season here) I went from a 120+ to a low/mid 80s. training aids used.... 2 wooden dowels or crappy golf clubs, tees, wiffle balls, blanket, bucket, broken club (just below the grip), masking tape, and a small thin cardboard box.
