I'm 23 and I'm still at uni and I feel really behind in life. Everybody around me is getting married, having kids, buying houses, etc... The only thing that keep me going is the fact that for me education is everything. I don't wanna depend on someone, I want to be independent, I want to give back to my parents for everything they have done for me, but the journey is hard. UNI IS HARD, keeping up with exams is hard, organizing time is hard, but I know that in the end is gonna be worth it 🌿

Who the hell is getting married at 23, having kids and buying houses? Seems like all of those people come from rich families already. I assure you, average 23 year old (heck, even average 27 year old) is not getting married anytime soon nor it will buy a house anytime soon.

I’m 28 and currently working. When I did my undergrad, I had no focus whatsoever and really messed up my GPA (2.74).. but I did graduate. I really want to go back to school but my GPA has kept me from doing that for years. Also my school loans make me feel financially unstable. Truth is, it was all a mindset. I got a new job that paid more and quickly got a promotion and pay raise. I spent the last year repeating some of my core science courses and boosted my GPA over 3.0 and and science pre-req GPA over 3.45. I buckled down financially and paid off my credit card debt and my car.. and managed to save an additional 10k. Going back to school seems more in reach than ever. Basically what I’m trying to say is... sometimes it’s your mindset. Mindset is everything. Also stop caring what other people think of your process and stop comparing yourself to others. Everyone has their demons!

This made my cry watching this, I've always been an A* student but I sacrificed my social life, potential relationships and friends. I was raised in a very religious family and it stunted my ability to develop as a confident person socially. I'm an atheist now and I do feel freedom. But when I get my A, I feel a bitter hatred for myself for not being the best, and when I see a fellow classmates get a C, but happily accept it, plan a weekend party with their partner and just be happy. It hurts so much thinking about it, regret is poisoning my mind and I'm falling into an abyss, I'm crying typing this. I'm so regretful of my life, my teenage years are ending and I've done nothing but study. I just want to enjoy life but I don't know what to do

Got diagnosed with ADHD this past September, registered to go back to highschool and will be moving on to become an Elevator Technician by the end of the year. I have a heading and a purpose to propel me. I don't care what everyone else is doing. I've put a ton of energy into understanding myself and developing great habits to lay the foundation for future growth and I feel great about MY future. That's all that matters. Great video Anas! I've always had severe anxiety from various expectations that I've formed from social media and the general societal notion that you need to have everything figured out before a certain age. Good video Anas. I have a similar story. I was a freshman in college and knew I wanted to do something in health care but I was not so hard working. I failed all of my classes in my second semester in college and it was a huge moment in my life and it quite frankly shocked me because I knew that this was not high school and I needed to work every semester as hard as I could. I repeated those classes and got A's and It has been an upward trend since then. I am almost done and will be applying to medical school in a few years but if it was not for that downfall I don't think I would have been the person I am today. Love your vids Anas keep them coming.

I do think the amount of insight we have into other people's lives do affect us even if it isn't consciously. We have infinitely more access to what our friends, acquaintances, old colleagues and complete strangers are doing than we did 15 years ago so it's not surprising if those feelings come up now and again. I also hear you on sometimes the things that we are chasing may not necessarily make us happy. I spent so much time and effort on becoming a doctor and when I finally became one it wasn't what I thought it'd be and I eventually decided to leave.

I just want to say, thank you for making this. When you touched on the topic of feeling like you're behind on life by your OWN standards, I felt recognized; and what you said genuinely put things into perspective for me. I often find myself feeling like a failure or "behind" but who am I really behind? The answer should be no one if I truly am only focusing on myself. Sometimes I need to remind myself that even my life isn't linear, and won't always fall to plan. Thanks again. I needed this.

Thanks so much, brother. However, for some people (myself), the feeling of changing the direction in life (such as career) is a nightmare due to age, time, responsibilities, parents' expectations, limitation of options...etc). I totally understand what you mentioned about the "flow". I have been doing it my whole life. However, I have never failed so hard. Even though I am slow and very average, I never quite; I never failed. But, I'm heavily depressed as I know I can do more and I'm not satisfied with who I have become today. I can't be the best version of myself unless I do something I like to do; which is the most terrifying impossible thing in my life at the moment. I'm so lost!!!!!
