I'm white and I didn't realize there was so much confusion about the Bee Gees race. LOL! But that's because I'm old and I grew up with this music. I can understand how you were tricked because you said that this song is played in many black movies. I didn't know that... so there you go, I learned something too.

OMG, need to share a story of this in reverse. Right after Micheal Jackson passed away, they were showing all these videos of his days with Jackson 5. She said" I didn't know Micheal Jackson was black?!!", and pardon me for my reaction, but I started laughing so hard I cried, and she laughed also but didn't know why. I know he had a skin condition that I was very aware of and I know it was a very sensitive issue for Micheal. But those of us who grew up aware of him saw the gradual difference, but it him someone who didn't witness those changes, how would they know?!!! All the jokes that people made about him, I wouldn't allow my children or grandchildren to laugh at someone with this issue. But I look at it as ya'll were laughing because you were surprised the Beegees were white?!!!, no offense taken, whatsoever!!!. My heart really ached for Micheal and I really felt his pain when he did "Oprah interview, and she brought up how people actually mentioned they thought he bleached his skin to get rid of his blackness. You could tell it really hurt.

as a white dude, i am proud that you view the Bee Gees as Honorary men of Soul. Your reaction had me in tears. Its not often white dudes drip, but when they do, they do it well. I made my housemate have an existential crisis a few years back when he found out the Bee Gees were white......i remember him spurting out "my community has lied to me for too long", and i'm pretty sure he said "I don't know whether i'm happy or sad" as well at one stage, so i'm pretty sure this is a normal reaction for a black dude discovering the Bee Gees.

It is enough to know that we humans can create such beautiful music. The colour of their skin is no more relevant, in terms of having such ability, than the type of shoes they wear. One of the most wonderful things about music is that it transcends everything else, including race. As Duke Ellington once said, "there's two kinds of music - good music and the other kind." Used for the movie, written just before the movie, not done for the movie. They were asked to provide some songs & they already had 5 written. Listen to the words. "Feel the city breakin' & everybody shakin'" Written not long after Son of Sam serial killer Berkowitz had all of NYC terrorized.

@@vanessalore9942 yep the footsteps exactly matched the beat of this song John Travolta swinging the paint tin ,,,,, just as he says it’s the walking !!!! Also the timing of the beat is right for chest pumping / compressions. when trying to recover a heart attack victim

I grew up listening to the Bee Gees, & you have no idea how happy it makes me, to see the younger generation discover the music we fell in love with !!! Barry Gibb, in my opinion, has the best falsetto voice ever, & what makes it so incredible, is that in his falsetto, he also used his vibrato, which is very rare! Thank you so much for this, they were brothers, & Barry is the last one, but please review more of their music, you will not be disappointed, & they span over years, & crossed many genres 😍 I also believe, that if there is music in Heaven, it would sound like the Bee Gee's ❤️❤️❤️

I went to a concert in the early 90’s (Queensland Australia) to see Isaac Hayes. At the start of the show, all these cool black guys came on stage along with a white guitarist in a coy boy hat and boots…. Not only was it one of the best concerts I’ve ever seen, this guy was the funkiest rhythm guitarist’s on the planet….I guess Isaac knew that talent surpasses race🙏🏾 loved the reaction

Love The Bee Gees...brothers Gibb. I’ve listened to them since the 1960’s. Barry hadn’t discovered his falsetto yet, so I never thought about how later they might be mistaken as black. Love how KZfaq reactors are bringing us all together through music. Loved your reaction❤️❤️❤️

If you have HBO Max, watch the documentary about The Bee Gees called “How Do You Mend a Broken Heart”. It’s all about how they got started as kids (they are brothers) and the rise to the top of the music world. The doc shows how they created the worlds first drum loop for “Staying Alive” by literally looping a drum beat on a loop tape that was stretched around the studio...hence the name “drum loop”

Genius song writers. Every song of theirs is fantastic. Some they've written for other artists. Their youngest brother Andy Gibb has some amazing songs too. I could live in the 70's, 80's and 90's forever.
