Today we are looking at Part 1 of a 2 part series on Watchdives the platform and Watchdives as a brand.
These watches were bought at discount and no financial incentive was offered or taken but this will not affect my review in any way.
There are 6 watches in total to review. 3 in this one and 3 in the next (Part 2)
I have reviewed 4 Watchdives pieces before so there is a reason for me doing this...

My issue with the 50 fathoms homage is not that it has 19mm lugs, but that Watchdives shipped it with a 20mm strap. That’s just laziness on their part. If they don’t want to source 19mm straps, then they shouldn’t make a watch with a 19mm lug width.

I am learning that dim lighting is a better test of lume strength than a pitch black room. Almost all lume looks okay when there is no competition.

Hi John, nice to have you back, hope you’re feeling 100% now 😀 I recently got the Watchdives Omega no time to die homage in titanium with mesh strap, swapped the strap over for a Thrifty Gentleman Bond two piece Nato style strap. The watch is in titanium, good watch, but sometimes erratic bezel action as per titanium watches ?! Look forward to part 2, excellent reviews as always.

The Watchdives Willard differs from Steeldives offering in not having a fully lumed bezel and just having the lume pip - something I prefer TBH and more in keeping with the original. That face is a lovely shade of green and suits the military strap perfectly...

I agree. I think buyers won't see past the perceived value of the Steeldive though...even though I have not had a good experience with them after repeated attempts!

The speedy homage looks like a guard tower on the wrist, viewing from the profile.

Great review as usual …not keen on the case of the speedy homage, if they put that dial and lume in the pagani style case that would be a killer combo. Went for the 50 fathoms WD50FK great deal at £65 after discount and inc shipping. Keep up the top quality reviews your hard work is appreciated.

Another great selection! the Thorn 50 fathoms is the pick for me. but the speedy and the willard are both strong contenders, I tend to shy away from chronographs and I have a couple of Willard homages but no 50 fathoms so the thorn takes it....looking forward to round 2

Welcome back Sir! It seems Watchdives is very savvy about improving upon existing watches. I have a Watchdives Willard, and it is literally my cheapest watch but hands down one of my favorites! Looking forward to part 2! I would say give Molly girl kisses from us, but you may lose an eye…😺

I bought a Steeldive "Aqua Lung" FF homage about 3 years ago. It runs great, looks the business and it's one of the few watches I own that draws random compliments. The SD version has a 20mm strap width but I found a retro steel rally bracelet in 19mm and it looks great with that watch. A 1mm gap is barely perceptible, even up close. Also, out of the watches I own, that one has the best time keeping of all my mechanical watches. It barely budges a second over a 5 or 10 day wear. Almost perfect timekeeping. Close second is a Seiko Samurai that is usually +3 seconds over 7 days.

Quality reviews as always. We are so lucky to have you when more and more channels feel like they are going the paid promotion route. I was ogling the WD16500 for a long while, but bought their Land Tortoise during the Choice sale, and Ali refuse to give me the biggest sale coupon no matter how many times I refresh the page, so no Watchdives Chrono this time for me. I have to see if I can resist during the soccer sale. 😅

The 19mm lug width these days is fine. Plenty of 19mm straps now. The L2L is brilliant for me. Always struggle with that on other homages. I love it. Got my voice back after a wee cold 🥶

Fantastic selection, my friend. Watchdives is really producing some outstanding pieces at great value. I just received today the WD1861 Speedy Homage with white dial, and I am about to pull the trigger on the WD50FS. Damn these sales...so terrible on the willpower and wallet 😕

Haha. Well done. Bothe great watches. I'm not a speedy fan ( shock horror ) but the 50 fathoms has always been a favourite. The only thing is trying to find one with a shorter L2L....and this is it. A cracker ! 🤗

@johnswatchjoint To be honest, it is a little big on me too, but I like everything about it so much, including legacy, that it is one of my grail. BTW, just received the Watchdives WD1861 white dial and I love it! Gorgeous watch 🔥👌👍

Nice...and it will wear nicely on you. I do like the speedy but was really disappointed at how it wore. Are Omega not bringing out a smaller version? I thought I read it somewhere recently 🤔

Too bad the Tachymeter is misaligned on your model, or shouldn’t the 60 being centered in the 12 o’clock position? And I really don’t like the Aluminium insert… That Green Willard looks great, but this small dial always puts me off. Otherwise i would’ve bought it already. On a side note, 4 watches this sale… fml! Well, 6, one is a gift and one from Watchdives. Their FF is spot on, definitely the best version there is! So, this matte version is definitely titanium? Nice video, good job!

No. Just make sure you opt for the cheapest postage method. It will still only take two weeks to get to you :)

The speedy homage 12 o'clock marker seems.......off.

It's down to camera perspective and a little dot of dust between the bezel and the crystal. The dust dot is frictionally to the right and it's off-putting. It's unfortunate but when shooting video you sometimes miss these little details from behind the camera 😕

It's a shame as PD got the case profile right but not much else...however all the new colours after the Swatch releases have really bolstered it's position so fair play :)
