Yellow gold all the way. The green is more timeless. That watch will look good in 1000 years. The rose/olive is nice but not timeless IMO

the dial on my OP 41 looks the same, when it catches the sunlight it is very bright. Good review, no drama.

The Op green and the day-date green dial are identical just the hue of the yellow gold makes it pop alot more, it intresting you didnt mention it with all the talk of Rolex geen dials.

I prefer the olive green dial in the FWG DD. The dial pops in white gold.I think that super green anniversary (Jade) dial works better in the GMT FYG set up.

I’ve had the opportunity to buy the olive green everose DD from my AD last week… a stunning watch… nice dial usw. but refused to buy it. I am waiting for the yellow gold green dial version or the platinum ice blue with baguette numerals… I’ve tried the 36 mm platinum DD which was for immediate sale… but it didn’t please me size wise. I can confirm what Eric said: I haven’t seen any green yellow gold DD in the wild… and honestly I think Rolex will discontinue this model before I will get one… if it will stay in the catalog as long as the olive model… I will get one from my AD one day… maybe… eventually… whatever… we’ll see… now that Rolex has bought Bucherer things will change slightly.

Nice. I have the black dial gold GMT. The green never looked good to me. On the fence with this DD. I want a DD and this is the best out there at the moment but not sure if it’s made it on to my list. For now hopefully getting a YG Daytona champagne/black subdials

@watcheric, great video love the content, I have a question, I love the hustle and bustle of buying and selling goods, and I've dealt with mostly gray market dealers personally (due to S&D), but do you ever think in the future that Rolex will figure out the supply and demand issue and you'll be able to actually go in to a store and pay MSRP for a new watch? Regardless of having it or not, I don't feel great about spending 50% - 100% more than msrp to buy "anything" lol. thanks man, again, love the content.

I know your question is for Eric and hopefully he’ll chime in.. but my opinion on the matter is that they’ll never really be easily available except for undesirable configurations of datejust 36mm and/or smaller …. Even if they did try to make their product more accessible (which would be a mistake in my opinion) but again, EVEN IF THEY DID I feel mostly all AD’s would still portray like its tough and just not ever really offer watches out in the case for sale anyway.. The supply and demand as you mentioned is the very reason why the market has the strength it does even in this down economy

Rolex need a rose gold DD with a blue lacquered dial with sapphire blue Roman numerals. This is a boring watch design that needs contrasting colors to not be a snoozer. But a gold day date is thee classic Rolex. Well maybe after the Paul Newman.

i hate lacquer dials. they look so dead and flat compared to sunburst dials. also the lacquer likely will crack in a few decades. look at older stella dials or tanks. they look like s***t with their cracked dails.
