They have a lot in common: They share the same complication being a dual time or GMT, they effectively do the same thing - tell you the time and the time in another timezone, they both have bi directional bezels and jubilee style bracelets. So... Really.. Why does the Rolex cost 23x MORE?
In the world of watches, it's all the little details. The little details add up to make a MAJOR difference. The Rolex finishing is on another planet (their stainless steel finishing IN GENERAL is amazing), the way the bracelet wraps to the wrist, the clasp. There is no comparison on the clasp.
So, in summary. YES, the Rolex should be better because it costs a LOT more. But I don't think you are getting 23x the watch. The Rolex is great - don't get me wrong. But I truly enjoy the Seiko 5 GMT just as much. It's such an enjoyable wear, I feel a lot less scared wearing it, and it does the job I need it to do. No complaints from me.
