The song was written for The movie most of dolly best known work is from her movies but she was already the legend when this became a big hit movie for dolly, imfrom Tennessee and dolly parton is our most valuable treasure she literally could get away with almost any crime in Tennessee no matter what horrible crime she could commit we here if on the jury would be well its dolly im sure she had the greatest reason in the world and we be like but it's dolly can we just let her go and not tarnish her name I don't think 12 people in the entire state would ever convict her of any crime she so genuine dolly all the time and she is on the mount Rushmore of Tennessee and and we got a lot

I'm old enough to remember the "sweatshop" type of conditions in most offices that is shown at the start of the movie. And for most people in the audience, the conditions at the end were changes that were being talked about, but seemed more like an unattainable utopian workplace. However, over time, the changes have become much more common, which cuts into the satire for people whose memories that don't go back that far.

It was only about a dozen years after this movie that I started my career at a firm where they still had a DRESS CODE for women. Hosiery required. 🤮

My mom recalled working as a secretary during WWII, when all the silk and the new material, nylon, was being diverted from stockings to parachutes. Yet the dress codes still required hosiery. Women had to put on "leg makeup," including drawing on the seam that at the time always was present at the far side of the stockings. (The same legs, minus the makeup, were considered indecent and would get you fired.) My mother pointed out what a pain, because if you crossed your legs, you'd wipe off the makeup.

Yes Dolly in no world should you ever take crap from dabney coleman i love him as an actor but how he treated my dolly he deserved this movie litterally everything happend karma style for messing with the girls I a little bias to dolly
