ASDF Movies actually have my favourite bit of internet wholesome. When the ASDF movies were first coming out, some fans noticed that there was a sharp spike in suicide/death related jokes after one of Tom's friends had taken his own life. After reaching out to him about it, not to complain but to ask if Tom was doing okay. Tom admitted that he hadn't noticed the change in his jokes, it was basically Freudian Slips, but that he was in a very dark place at the time. He even ended up putting out a thank you vid, iirc.

If you didn't know, there is this series called Eddsworld made by a friend of Tomska (the creator of asdf movie), and Tom plays a character literally named Tom throughout the show. Its quite funny and i think you would enjoy watching it! Its like if asdf movie had a seriealized show made after it. But with actual characters with names and stuff

It's very interesting to see how the humor of the asdf has evolved, and then to compare it to the comedy skits Tomska has made. It's the same dark, dry British humor, but he spends more time playing with the concept of a joke, and seeing how far he can take the concept. If you want to watch something of his that has less violence, his Meanwhile series of skits is a great place to start.

I recommend watching some other content from TomSka, either his skits or his vlogs, he's a wholesome, humble guy. He had a very interesting vlog on how much he hates some of the jokes in asdfmovie and how his mental health influenced the increasingly dark humor as the series progresses.

Awesome video lol, as a tomska enjoyer i love to see reactions to his content. Asdf has aged interestingly, it truly is not a piece of it's time, but it feels like it's in the middle of time and space waiting for the moment to shine and fit in within a societal context. I don't think we'll get that societal context, I think it's contents are and will continue to be, purely random. Sometimes funny, sometimes just leaves you thinking "is this what there is to this piece of media?", sometimes it makes you reflect on why you enjoy what you enjoy and why you consume what you consume.
