And that great movie is “A Fistful of Dollars” by Sergio Leone. Which is the first instalment of the so-called “Man-with-No-Name Trilogy” aka the “Dollars Trilogy “. “A Fistful of Dollars” (1964) is followed by the better “A Few Dollars More” (1965), the last film being the immortal masterpiece “The Good, The Bad and The Ugly “ (1965) of which Quentin Tarantino said that it’s his favorite movie of all times.
@claudioricignuolo6974

This film (Back to the Future part III) also makes several references to yet another Sergio Leone’s masterpiece, “Once upon a time in the West” (1968) with Charles Bronson, Henry Fonda, Jason Robards and Claudia Cardinale: Monument Valley locations, the camera use in the “first gaze on the entire town” scene, the Doc’s boots and long coat view when he saves Marty from being lynched, and the pivotal importance given to trains and railways. Also, in top of all that, the general feel of the old West, the colours, lightning, dirtiness, dust, etc. are all a genuine tribute to the art of Sergio Leone in general.

We know from the first film that Marty's family is from Ireland. In the scene just after Marty goes back to 1955 and is sitting in the diner next to a young version of his dad George, the young Biff calls the young George "an Irish bug".

Fun facts: There is a musician in each film. #1 has Huey Lewis as the teacher who tells Marty he's too darn loud during the band try-out. #2 (& #3) has Flea (Red Hot Chili Peppers) as Needles. #3 has ZZ Top as the band at the town party. Also a member of Biff's gang (1955), Griff's gang (2015), and Bufford's gang (1885) are the members of Needle's gang at the end of #3 (in the truck) (1985).

Mary Steenburgen , who played Clara here, also appeared previously in another time travel movie in 1979. It is called TIME AFTER TIME, and dealt with H.G.Wells and Jack the Ripper travelling to modern (1979 modern) San Francisco. She plays a bank teller who helps H.G.Wells pursue Jack the Ripper, trying to stop him from continuing his killing spree. Sci-Fi, thriller, adventure and probably some comedy all together. Please consider giving it a viewing. Enjoyed your reactions to the BTTF trilogy.

The train used in this film is an original steam locomotive, named Sierra No. 3. It is still in operation, used by the California State Park system in Railtown 1897. Every weekend, one train is operated for park programs. Also, there is a Telltale Game which tells Doc’s story. The movies were Marty’s story, and Telltale made an excellent point-and-click / quick-time game which reveals the origins of Emmet L. Brown. It also reveals Doc’s middle name.

Most of the characters in 1885 were played by character actors who had acted in Westerns. The actor who played the bartender, for example, had played bartenders in two different Western shows. Most of them were fairly elderly, as Back the the Future 3 was made about a generation after the golden age of Westerns ended.

Clara / Mary Steenburgen is also in a 1979 time travel movie (involving Jack the Ripper). The guy riding shotgun was in Buford's gang, the guy in the back on the left was in Biff's gang, and the guy in the back on the right was in Griff's gang. WTF is that little blond kid doing with his hands when Doc says "your future hasn't been written yet"? There was a deleted scene where Buford shoots Marshall Strickland, whose last words are reminding his son the importance of discipline. That's why the deputy is the one who arrests him at the end. 17:48 Before around the mid 1800's the numbers of Irish settlers, was modest (usually around 60% of the numbers of English immigrants). But there was a terrible famine in Ireland around the mid 1800's which caused immigration from Ireland to sky rocket, between 1820 and 1930 the Irish immigrants outnumbered the English probably by 20%. I guess the film makers are alluding to this with the Mcfly's representing this relatively new upsurge in Irish immigrants during the mid 1800's.

I'm glad you included the clip where *Marty's* shooting down targets but I don't think you guys got it when he said how'd you learn how to shoot like they he said *7-Eleven* if you remember in *pt2* in the diner he's playing the arcade game *(Wild Gunman)* where the future kids are embarrassed you have to use your hands *(Wild Gunman)* was a popular game in the late *80's* it was even on the first *Nintendo NES*

If I time travelled to the wild west, my alias would be Reginald Vandermark. I wouldn't steal the name of a famous actor.

Marty didn't steal the hover board. Don't you remember that after Griff and his gang, part 2,crashed into the courthouse, the little girl told him to keep it?

Of course Marty's relatives are from Ireland. He's Irish. A litte piece of info for you guys, There was a huge immigrant boom from Europe in the mid 1800's so a lot of white peoples ancestors came to America around that time. I have German and Irish ancestors who came over at that time. It's extremely common for a lot of peoples ancestors from Europe to be in America in 1885.

Two things: 1) Doc's first name is Emit. Read that backwards. 2) They set up Doc's life with Clara in the second movie when he tells Marty about visiting the rejuvenation clinic. He says "It probably added a good 30-40 years to my life," which made it possible for him to have a life with Clara even though he was already pretty old to begin with. And that's just awesome.
