To warg a human, is considered an abomination, bcuz it breaks a person's mind. And bran has been warging into Hodor. this episode showed that the 1st time he ever warged into Hodor, in Hodor's timeline, was when he was a smart stableboy, old Nan's nephew, & it broke his mind. That's why he became mentally slow. Bran is the one who messed him up, screwed up his whole life, just to get him to hold a door to save his own ass. but, technically, to save the world, so that's supposed to make it ok, I guess.

Shireen's death was more of an anger/frustration response, as they had been teasing it for quite awhile. The Hodor death was sudden and very unexpected. I'd figure he'd be carrying around Bran's broken body forever. Now you'll need to do a shocked death tier ranking list at the end of the show. I'm determined to make that final GoT live stream 14.5 hours!

That is how I understood it, too. I don't doubt that GRRM had less input, etc., but I thought certain elements of the story were already determined by GRRM. Certainly when the show originally aired everyone acted like GRRM was involved. Since then GRRM has distanced but he takes credit for some story elements, arcs, intended destinations, etc., as well. I honestly don't know what parts were intended cannon and what were D&D, but having read the first four books, I mean, the show doesn't exactly follow the books 100% of the time ever. So, I figure I just like the show when I like it and I don't worry too much about whether it's book cannon or not. I separate the show and the books in my mind and appreciate both. 🤷

That's a really interesting theory! I always assumed it was akin to the Metatron (the voice of God) only it was Metatron for the Red God. So you think the priest had to do a blood sacrifice to see a fire vision (a la The Red Woman) and he saw a vision of future Dany? That's so interesting... Hmmm...
