as a person who actually watched the whole series, it is really interesting to see the first and last episode in this order. like, so many things happened, like i totally forgot about jeremy being drug dealer. you know, it is amazing how all of the characters developt through the series (and how all of them actually died :D).

I've watched the entire series 5 times now and I still pick up on things I missed because there is so much going on in every single one of the 171 episodes. There's no way you can know what went on by watching Pilot and Finale. There were so many interesting characters like the Mikaelsons, Katherine and Alaric. There were so many action sequences, so many twists and turns and relationship changes that you really need to pay attention. The true relationship story of the whole series was the one between Damon and Stefan. You have to watch it all to appreciate how that first 'Hello, brother' and the final 'Hello, brother' are so different.
