The Conjuring is a 2013 American supernatural horror film directed by James Wan and written by Chad Hayes and Carey W. Hayes. American ratings are usually higher than they are elsewhere. I've seen a lot of movies that are rated R in the USA but only 14+ in Canada. I don't really know what the discrepancy is there.

Fun fact, Warren's museum guide told in some video that this case wasn't really happy ending. They went to the family, did what they could but they didn't get rid of the bad things happening in the house, he said that this case was so "scary" that they decided to not use every material in the movie, also Andrea, the oldest daughter, wrote a 3 book series called "House of Darkness, House of Light" that explains how the Warren's actually made things worse by being there. The reality is much more horrible than the movie. The Perron's lived in hell in that house from 1970-1980.

"it usually seems they always go after the dad first" well that's because whenever you're trying to harm someone you would usually go after the protector first, but the dad was pretty much gone on work for the first half of the movie so it didn't need to.

@@TaylorMLPFIDAU the warrens were practically scam artists… they would go to these families and use their stories for their own benefits when they write their books. They didn’t help the perron family like they are shown in this movie. They were actually kicked out by the husband, Ed got punched by him. And the other cases, the warrens promised them help like money if they use their story for their book(one example is the case of the “devil inside me” movie). They barely gave that family a portion of the money they got from that case. Not to mention what a predator Ed was. They even had an underaged girl living w/ them …Ed was cheating on Lorraine with that girl.. overall not good people.

@@TaylorMLPFIDAU she took advantage of these families with her husband, to sell their stories in their books for money. Then barely gave them anything for it. Especially the case of the guy who claimed to be possessed. They barely gave as much money they got from their book to the little boy they supposedly helped be exorcized. Along with the Perron family, they were actually kicked out their house and didn’t “help” them at all like in the movie.

Girl, I’m with you on demon possession movies. I love horror but always feel so eerie with certain movies. I don’t recall what movie it was but I literally had a dream that I felt myself getting possessed and woke up right then rebuking that shit. Hasn’t happened since but nope nope nope, I condemn it 😂

The fact that this movie was mild compared to what actually happened XD One of the kids of the family that were haunted wrote a book on what happened at that house and the movie makers had to cut out and censor a lot from it. Just so that it would get through regulations. Read the book if you're interested in what actually happened according to one of the very victims itself.

This and Conjuring 2 are often known as the scariest movies but just fyi , “Annabelle: Creation” (the 2nd Annabelle movie) is the only horror movie to get a perfect 100% score on rottten tomatoes which is amazing . The movie is of course a James Wann who came in and killed it so amazingly! If u haven’t seen that one , you’ll love it.

I love this movie Vera Farmiga as Lorraine don’t get me wrong they all did amazing but that SCREAM. 👏🏾👏🏾 I think the main reason this movie is so scary is because the acting is so top tier I honestly felt the fear of the kids, the confusion of the parents, and that climax of Lorraine trying to bring the mom back.

Am I Catholic? No. Am I Christian? No. Did I pull out my Grandma's rosary and hold onto it while watching all the Conjuring Universe movies just to be safe? Signs point to yes... The Conjuring is one of my favorite horror movies of all time P.S: I'll never forget seeing it in theaters on opening night, me, my then-girlfriend and the entire audience jumped and screamed at a few scenes throughout the movie that the ushers had to come in and tell us to keep it down

i personally love this movie. i love all things scary! and i don’t think you get the full understanding of what happened to this family just by watching this movie! thought it is a great example, i really recommend watching sam and colby’s video’s about them exploring the real conjuring house. they’ve made many videos around it, and most recently made a series for a week when they stayed there. this will show you just how much hurt and fear the perron family lived in for so long, and they tell you all about the history on both the family and the house. it’s great knowledge for someone who loves scary things!

I’ve watched this movie so many times in my room (it’s given off a bad vibe to everyone that’s ever stayed over) and I remember one time I was sick and my family left me home alone. I was sleeping and felt someone grab my ankle and pull me out of bed, I woke up half way off the end of my bed. I started SCREAMING 😭😭😭 I checked the entire house just to realize I was home alone😭. This really is one of the greatest horror movie franchises ever. The actors who played the Warrens freaking held it all together.

I’ve watched all the nun movies,all the Annabel movies,all the insidious movies, AND all the conjuring movies ( p,us a bunch more ) and I’m only 10 rn and a lot of people think I shouldn’t be watching stuff like this but it has taught me a lot I started watching this stuff when I was bat 8 and it definitely has changed my pov of life

I’m not sure if someone has already said this, but fun fact, the real Lorraine Warren is actually sitting in the audience at 17:17! She’s the old lady with the gray hair. She isn’t shown for very long.

I was a sleep walker and you can wake them. I honestly don't know where that came from. I used to wake myself up all the time by accident. My brother woke me up when I was shouting (I thought I was in a well), its not a problem.
