I rewound a few times figuring I somehow missed it. Such a classic scene that has you totally on the edge of your seat, knowing all the while that with Tommy’s temper, you could be dead in an instant if he takes offense at anything you said.

Henry Hill testified against Paul Vario (named Paul Cicero in the film) in two different trials in 1984 and 1985. The 1990 film “My Blue Heaven”, starring Steve Martin, is based on Henry Hill’s life after entering the witness protection program. The screen writer of My Blue Heaven is the wife of the screenwriter of Goodfellas.

The only issue with the movie is that Henry Hill NEVER walked through the side door at the Copa. ONLY made guys could do that, and Henry couldn't be made.

John Gotti was specifically the guy who was looking for Billy Batts. Sammy The Bull told that story from the Gambino perspective in an interview a few years ago. John and Billy were very good friends.

Yes, you're accurate. The Gambino Family is the one John Gotti eventually became the boss of. Edit: The guy with the nice fro, who they found frozen in the meat truck was in "The Godfather part II" with De Niro. He played Vito's best friend, Genco, whom he named his olive oil company after.

I applauded right along with you at the end, that was beuatiful. I know how you feel. That's exactly how the entire audience felt when the lights came up, back in '90, in the theatre. This movie is like a great meal! DEFINITELY hit "Casino", which Scorsese, De Niro, Pesci and some of the other actors did a few years later.....it's practically a sequel: "Goodfellas Goes To Vegas". Just as great as this one, totally classic. GREAT reaction, man!!!! THANK YOU!!!! What a great way to end the weekend!

As others are saying, you gotta hit "Casino" next. Another true story directed by Scorsese starring De Niro and Pesci. It is another great gangster flick about the rise and fall of the real life Stardust (Tangiers in the movie) casino.

Just so you know when Henry is telling us the names of the Wise guys that were sitting at the bar. Well one of them was Michael Franzese and he now has a youtube channel and even did a video about the movie. If this stuff intrest you I would recommend you check it out.

I kind of envy you for watching this film for the first time. Your patrons didn't steer you wrong. Godfather and Godfather 2 rank as my two favorite gangster films of all time - Goodfellas is number 3.

This movie is so authentic that that FBI agent who was talking to Henry and Karen was not an actor. That was the REAL FBI agent who was in charge of Henry Hill’s case.

One of my absolute favorite movies ever. I used to watch this with my dad after my parents got divorced. We'd either make or order italian food and watched it. My dads a flawed guy but this definitely is a comfort film because it gives me some positive memories with the old man.

This movie is definitely on my top 10 of all time. If you haven't yet, please watch Casino. A ton of the same actors in this movie is in that movie. Great reaction dude. Loved it. I kinda wished you didn't cut out the whole "Shine box" scene and the scene where Pesci was giving Liotta crap about him being funny. Other than that, great vid.

As close to Gangsta as you can get. True Story as well. The roles were reversed with Henry and Tommy. Henry was actually short and ugly and Tommy D was tall and good looking and a fuckn nut as well. I'm originally from Bensonhurst Brooklyn Bathe Avenue, the stomping ground of the Mob. Was a big deal to us when this flick came out. Good ol dayz.

I can say I did not hate Dances with wolves the first time I watched it, but I can say I have zero desire to watch again, and it felt long. Long movies are fine as long as you don’t mind and it does not feel long. Plus, Kevin Costner having an Oscar for directing before Marty was enough to discredit the whole organization

Holy s**t, FANTASTIC REACTION!!!! This is why I subscribed, baby!!! Hey listen.....seriously, with all due respect to "Devil's Advocate".....the better movie definitely won the poll. To be honest, MOST movies would have a tough time beating this one, if quality alone was what it was being judged on. This movie blew our frickin' MINDS back in '90 and great to see that it hasn't changed! Endlessly ripped off, ever since. The best movie that is most under it's influence is "Boogie Nights", basically Goodfellas but the porn industry! And Scorsese himself did practically a sequel to "Goodfellas": "Casino". You've GOT to see "Casino"! "Casino" and "Boogie Nights", you will LOVE those movies exactly like you loved this one. And DeNIro and Scorsese have a STRING of groundbreaking classics that you'd KILL on: "Casino", "The King Of Comedy", "Raging Bull", "Cape Fear", "Mean Streets" and "Taxi Driver". Those are all essential movies for anyone who wants to get to the source of where so much comes from. All those movies, endlessly imitated. And De Niro is AMAZING in all those. "Goodfellas" is his most minor part, actually! Joe Pesci is in "Casino" and "Raging Bull", he's amazing in those as well.

@@dimitrakapa4887 Carlito's Way is neither De Niro or Scorsese, but yeah, it's good. I prefer "Donnie Brasco" for 90s Al Pacino mob movies. That's one of his best performances. But "Carlito's Way" is definitely good. Pacino has that awful accent, unfortunately, almost as bad as Nicholson's Boston accent in "Departed", lol. (or Pacino's in "Scarface", lol)
