“Never compromise. Not even in the face of Armageddon.”
I am angry at myself because I should've made a video about this amazing Snyder movie sooner. It is perfect in every aspect, the writing, acting, directing, cinematography (although Snyder is obsessed with moments, I must admit his style is something very fresh and chilling)
I hope you enjoy this video. Thank you so much for your support!
Especially, you patrons, you keep me on mine feet. Thank you so much.

@@MichaelSBaram DOESNT FIT THE CHARACTER? DID YOU WATCH THE MOVIE? Thats one of the best things he said in the movie, because it showed that he finally realised that some men are so evil that they just deserve to be killed. He compared the criminal to dogs, because that was the only thing Rorshach had in mind and it proved how angry he was.

@@cardmaster8772No, I did not watch the movie. However, I have read the novel multiple times. This line is not there, it was written for the movie. I dislike this line because Rorshach's whole point here is that HUMANITY is evil crooked and rotten. There are no men to arest, only men to put down. "Its us, only us".

Felt dark planet turn under my feet and knew what cats know that makes them scream like babies in night. Looked at sky through smoke heavy with human fat and God was not there. The cold, suffocating dark goes on forever and we are alone. Live our lives, lacking anything better to do. Devise reason later. Born from oblivion; bear children, hell-bound as ourselves, go into oblivion. There is nothing else. Existence is random. Has no pattern save what we imagine after staring at it for too long. No meaning save what we choose to impose. This rudderless world is not shaped by vague metaphysical forces. It is not God who kills the children. Not fate that butchers them or destiny that feeds them to the dogs. It’s us. Only us. Streets stank of fire. The void breathed hard on my heart, turning its illusions to ice, shattering them. @@jalmarilaine4405 I think its dependent on how you see the world. Do you see the world as fundamentally being one where people with different ideas are clashing, and problems are caused by people having the wrong ideas? If so, then you probably also worry about a future civil war if you're in the US. Do you see the world as fundamentally being dominated by people who literally don't have their own opinions, are unable to have an opinion if all of their friends would leave them for it, and even if they did have such an opinion they could hold are completely unwilling to sacrifice their happiness let alone their life for that opinion? If so, then you feel that solutions don't start with people having the right opinions (which is what most liberals seem to believe), they start with having the moral character to believe and fight for anything at all. I like Rorschach because he is that very critical first step, and is a pretty stunning reminder that despite the severity of his flaws in his character he did more good for the Earth than any of the other superheroes who were too cynical to do much like The Comedian and especially more than the Owl who is the most accurate representation I've seen of what it means to be a liberal superhero.

Rorschach is and will always be my favourite charachter. He embodies that man who no matter the odds would do what is right. He understood the sickness our society suffers from, not evil, but the compromises we give it, more and more, until truth becomes a lie, until a lie becomes necessary. People would argue that good and evil are subjective concepts, not because they are but because of the compromises society makes us do. If only that first compromise didn't happen, if we stayed true to our guts, to our humanity and if armageddon came because of that, then let it come.
@kidaria1333

These compromises often result without direct intention and have their basic routs over thousands of years of human civilisation history. There is not this one first compromise. Also many people like you always use the word humanity in the idealistic sense fading out that brutality, egoism and greed is part of humanity too. Many phrase thiactions inhumane which very human if you do realistic historic and anthrophosophic approach what humans are.

@CrimsonNerd They are so similar yet so different, though. One is a satire of the superhero comic that, while brilliant, isn't really as relevant nowadays that the superhero comic is no longer in the same place that it was back when Watchmen was originally printed. The other is a brilliant satire of the superhero movie that is more relevant today than ever in this golden age of Marvel and DC movies. Both carry the same or almost the same plot, yet both serve different purposes relevant to their respective times.

It‘s not really slept on since it does have a large fanbase & is more and more appreciated than it was 10 years ago. I do think it does have problems with it‘s portrayal of Ozymandias (he really is nothing compared to comic Ozy) & well, you do have to watch the 3.5 hour Ultimate Cut (the theatrical one is really missing stuff). I agree that Snyder‘s sense of visual idiosyncrasy is impeccable. Though it should be noted that Watchmen as a whole, a comic book that features sub chapters, a comic inside a comic & is both grounded in realism and in its mythology of depicting a street vigilante and basically god, maybe is „unfilmable“
@Bb-xq7gk
@Bb-xq7gk 4 жыл бұрын
Out of curiosity, how could it have been better? I'm of the probably unpopular opinion that Snyder actually improved on the near perfect source material, I.e having Rorschach put up more of a fight after jumping out of the window than in the comic, and Dan being witness to Rorshach's death was also an excellent change from the comic imo. My only real criticism is that maybe the sex scene in Archie was a bit long, but it was still funny as was probably intended.
@Bb-xq7gk
@Bb-xq7gk 4 жыл бұрын
@@filmreviewgerman9519 Similar question, how is Snyder's Ozymandias any different from the comic version? I've read the comic twice and I really don't recall any real difference other than the fact he summoned an alien as opposed to blowing up various cities, which again I think was an improvement by Snyder.
