@@mattyryon I feel the source material is not a reflection of out time. Respecting it by not adapting it, is a better way to go. Maybe expanding on a what if story or elseworlds expansion, which is what his show is, that's respect.

Paper Girls is such a clear greenlight for anyone trying capture that "Stranger Things" magic, but with something sufficiently different yet exceedingly awesome. Plus lots of great opportunities for a completely unique color pallete and lighting configurations to try and capture the feel of the book, in a show.

The Leftovers is incredible. I was more excited to see Watchmen the show thanks to Leftovers more than watchmen the graphic novel, which is crazy!

Which shows you know nothing of the watchmen story. Everyone seems to miss the nuance of Alan Moore's story. His stories have layers like an onion. This show is very superficial and surface level. No layers like what Alan Moore had. No we just get a pandering mess.

Yes, it is crazy , because Lindelof was behind the garbage Star Trek:Into Darkness film and he completely sh*tvall over the graphic novels with exactly zero compelling characters or no references to the original characters. And the 46% audience score is continuing the differenctial between critics and audiences. Destroying story canon and marginalization of originals isn’t working.

1:12 I still maintain the one Lost episode that was specifically centered on Nikki & Paulo is a very good episode. Yes, the entirety of them in the series is on the annoying and superfluous side, but looking at it by itself, it's a pretty good self-contained mystery. I always refer to it as "the Forrest Gump episode" of Lost, because you get several key places/events/times within the series you're already familiar with but this one time of seeing them from the POV of this other couple people, putting a significantly different spin on them.

I always thought the whole spider bite / temporary coma sleep deal should have been how Jack's Dad faked his death and was in the casket and then of course be alive and play a bigger part of the whole dharma initiative.

Gotta say, I was skeptical about this Watchmen show, but after the first two episodes, I'm really impressed so far. It feels like Watchmen. It's incredibly intelligent. At first I thought I was about to be beaten over the head with racial cliches, and it immediately threw a curveball that showed this was going to be much more thoughtful and substantive, and hasn't stopped throwing curveballs. I really hope it can keep it up at this level. Lost had me all the way through until the finale, where it fell apart for me. I want to see this one deliver. And I definitely have to go back and check out Leftovers. I'm late to the party on that one.

I’d really like to see him talk on Tom King’s The Vision and Mister Miracle. Lindelof is an admirer of King and I would love to see the two of them work together in the future. Love this series and you couldn’t have picked a better host to take the reigns from Schnepp! Cheers!

Funny thing, when i 1st read watchmen my focus mostly gravitated twds rosharch. I wasnt really interested in manhattan or any of the rest. Not that i didn't like them. But when doomsday clock came out, i realized how i significantly missed out on manhattan as a character. Now im all about manhattan.

They really need to get Ed Piskor and Jim Rugg from Cartoonist Kayfabe to do the recommendations then it wouldn’t just be mainstream and superhero books most comic people already have heard of.

I've never forgave him for the ending of Lost, but good to hear he is a fan of Saga. I am glad he used the Tulsa Massacre as the backdrop. Like him, I never heard about the incident until now. Hopefully with Watchmen and HBO, people will revisit and learn from this sad part of history.

Is anyone else not at all a fan of Golden Apple? Where they have recently filmed ALL the new CBM Shopping? It’s a small shop and they NEVER have the first issues of the series he gives to them, which is to me so dumb to give them a volume 4 or 3 to a series, I feel bad for the guests cause they will go in not knowing what’s going on. The earlier episodes back in the day would switch and it would be fresh and new, and for example HUGE and GREAT places like Meltdown comics were amazing stores and had EVERYTHING. If anything I’d rather them permanently have the show at a big and better looking place like meltdown, if you aren’t going to change, Golden Apple just is small and crumby, the floors are dirty. This sounds like such a Golden Apple roast, sorry Golden Apple, but this being one of my favourite shows and recently it feels kinda dry with its main store. Golden Apple must’ve sponsored, and to me they need to venture to the better places.

Crazy how even after the backlash from LOST, he's still killing it in the industry. Also pretty sad for Damon, as a big Watchmen fan having to accept that Alan Moore would hate his work despite having not seen it just cause he hates ppl adapting his work. Love the art not the artist I guess.

@@soufian2733 Honestly the show is a genuinely great successor and really captures the spirit of watchmen and uses Television and Film like the way Moore used the medium of comics in the original story. While Doomsday Clock is a fun fanfiction type of novel. HBO's Watchmen is more of a genuine and better continuation of the story.

Love the Watchmen show so far. Was definitely skeptical but it feels like a unique blend of West World and the essence and tone of Watchmen, as a metal narrative on the 80's - but done now, in 2019. Also : Lindelof is like a younger, cooler David Cross. How have I never noticed this before! lol

I like this show but kinda feel like the format needs a shakeup. It feels short and hurried, like you're racing to finish the episode. I think it might work better if you asked a question and then picked a comic based on the answer or something, and take your time a bit. Why cant this be 20 or 30 minutes? Every episode feels like you're in a hurry to jam a bunch of pre-sellected books in their hands and rush them out the door. Or maybe take the Amoeba aproach and let people pick stuff out and then talk about what and why they chose it. I dunno, you guys pull some great guests but the interviews always seem so surface level and rushed. Do you only have them for like 30 mins or something?

Even if you're a Moore fan you should watch it. It's not an adaptation and you should watch it, just for the Tulsa Massacre history and influence alone. Moore should watch it too. And I'm not saying if I like it or not, cause I don't know. But in my shitty opinion it's already better than the movie, before watchmen and doomsday clock. But it's not better than Pax Americana #1.

Before he starts spending money on comics I would like a refund for Prometheus, World War Z, Cowboys vs Aliens and Star Trek: Into Darkness. Four of the worst written films I have ever seen in my life. It's time I will never get back and for that...I will never forgive him. He is a hack.
