They left out Frankie Lymon & the Teenagers who sang Why Do Fools Fall In Love In 1956 who set the blueprint for boy bands. Berry Gordy owner of Motown said the Jackson 5 was based off the Teenagers

I was 15 years old, and went to visit family in Germany in 1996 (I'm from South Africa). And my cousins were dating two guys from a German boy band called Konstruction - yes, that's how they spelled it - opening for the Backstreet Boys. They invited me to their concert. I was, like, "Who the hell are the Backstreet Boys?" Remember, this was two years before they broke big. Long story short, I went to the concert, and I was blown away. I've been a Backstreet Boy fan ever since. I'm now 36 years old, and I still have their CDs, and more than a few of their albums on USB playing in my car constantly. Thanks guys for 21 years of memories......

David Theisen fereel, and Dream Street looool, they were like O-Town, they came out near the end of the whole boyband phenomenon, like 2001 when I was 11/12 they dropped they're first single I never liked them. They don't get a listing that's how bad they were....lol. At least Jesse McCartney made a career for himself.

Cliff Moore New Edition & Boys 2 Men were R&B groups & they made this list. The Temptations should at least b on the honorable mention list b cuz they sold millions of records & they fit the criteria 2 make this list.

I just went to BSB’s DNA concert last night here in Denver, Co! THE BEST concert I’ve ever been to. THE STRONGEST, THE CLEANEST SOUND SYSTEM I HAVE EVER HEARD. Performance was on point. AWESOME intro. They deserve that Number 1 spot!!!

People kept saying Westlife and 1D, but they didn't know how big Take That were back in the days. They have received eight Brits Awards. Having eight number one albums on the UK Album Chart. They also had 56 number one singles and 39 number one albums internationally. Their sixth album Progress became the fastest-selling album of the 21st century and the second fastest-selling album in British history at that time. In 2011, Take That set the new record for the fastest-selling tour of all time in the UK. I think no. 3 is fair for them

+Αλκηστη bsb _Don't take this as rude/mean or anything cuz I respect your opinion, but, to me, 1D is the best BOY BAND. __-5SOS, to me, is the best BAND. While it may be a band of boys, a boy band is a band that does NOT play instruments on stage (at least to me it is, and if you wanna go on about 5SOS [5 Seconds of Summer if you don't know (5SOS reference right there)] being a boy band, then 5SOS is my fav boy band. But to me, 5SOS is not a boy band (more like a.... "punk band" or something) and 1D is the best boy band...-_

+DarkQueen Mal I'm not offended I suppose that you are young that's why you're into 1D more as most teenagers .. Backstreet Boys have a great history and amazing songs with really sensitive and heartful lyrics and they were tremendously successful in their era and till today even though they've grown up..at that time there was no youtube internet etc and these guys left their mark in this type of music by doing music and only..now the bands or singers are mostly into shows and physical appearance rather than music itself..I've heard 1D some times but they never left me an impression of a deep feeling or spectacular music or something.. it just reminds me of just a common teenage band and nothing more..but that's only my opinion tastes in music change day by day now if this is for the best or the worst we'll see:) Bye!

Their record sales went skyhigh, they did plenty, even though their fame was short lived after their breakup cause from what I heard all the members had big egos but still though, late 90's early 2000's it was all about B2K, they were more popular than NSYNC and NSYNC were on the verge of disbanding anyway when B2K were coming up but u right though Jackson 5 or New Edition should have been number 1 on this countdown

I guess many of you didn't know how famous Nkotb and Take that were during their time. They were huge compared to the other boybands in the later years. They paved the way for all the boybands, especially all white boys 😀 but i cannot argue with BSB being on top. They still got it goin' on...

there's absolutely no question about it. backstreet boys and the new kids on the block are the best boybands of all time, especially the backstreet boys, cause after 25 years they're still together, never stopped being on the road together and after 25 years there are still millions of faithful fans who still buy tickets to their concerts, while one direction for example didn't even last a decade

Just went to BSB concert. They totally deserve to be first. Great vocals, great dancing, every song is catchy. Soooo good. It either had to be them or NKOTB.

In my opinion, Take That is the best "boy band". They are not even a boy band anymore because they have already grown as artists a long time ago now. Individually they might not be the best singers or dancers but overall creatively they are pretty much the best of the "boy band" genre. They don't need songwriters. Particularly with Gary fricking Barlow you have the best bandleader and chief songwriter you can ask for. I mean, "Back For Good", "Patience", "The Flood"? Are you kidding me? These are bloody good pop tunes 👍.

They are just simply amazing. They treat each other as brothers. They care for each other and never left anyone behind. Unlike any other bands in the 90's they made their way up even if they had difficulties. They are my inspiration. All other boybands from the 90's no longer make music but they are still , with their own music. I love them until I live.

@@takonadareishvili1743 Of course they are but they broke up and reunite. Im just saying BSB didn't break up. They had to go on hiatus at some point but never broke up. As for Westlife - I don't think they can still accept the mistake Brian did year ago, one member can't move on.

I may be 55 years old, but I agree!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the Backstreet Boys and have seen them in concert 2 times and would LOVE to see them again and I have all of their CDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My son, Nicholas, got me into them and he used to like them, which I'm glad that he did get me into them, but not any more!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He don't like them any more, which is DUMB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Shame on him!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

it's hard to answer reverse-racist (technically, a racist, just a black one) comments but i can agree on b2k to be in this list... and he said "my teenage time", which is millenial time (late 90s-early 2000s) .. you can add d12 (minus eminem) too, but it's hard to think d12 or b2k sing a slow lullaby making all the girls go romantically crazy.. plus, the last time i checked simon webbe was black..and mj was white.. (uh oh, i forgot blackstreet... )

Even if they are Popular their music won't last long like the good popular music bands or Artists used to last around 70's or 80's or 90's. People still listen to metallica or Iron maiden but hardly few will listen to 1D in around 2020's or 30's.

NEVER heard of a boy band named Blue, they sound GREAT though. "None of the other acts were this good" That's a line that'll be VARY MUCH debated till the end of time, its like trying to figure out if Ross and Rachel were on a break. "Do you agree with our list?" NO but then again I didn't create the list so...That being said, if you don't agree with the list might as well put ALL the boy bands in ONE concert venue and let the bands decide for themselves who is number one! #boybandfest
