Not only is there no concept of science, the amazon series is at most average, and the writing is atrocious. It’s like a cheap dilapidated carnival ride and the only source of drama is watching it fall apart.

Okay, the Radiation evolution point is interesting, however it is half analyzed. In the Fallout universe the world had to deal with the "New Plague" which they tried to counteract with the Forced Evolution Virus. A massive release of that virus is the real reason why things had an easier time mutating in the FO universe!

I also don't think enough people give credit to the foods preservatives. Think about it. Salisbury steaks, perfectly preserved pies, and other foods which lasted over 220 years and yet doesn't give us botulism or other bacteria? I bet that's the bigger reason for ghouls than anything else.

The area immediately around Chernobyl is still dangerous. Just because Pripyat is in the clear, doesn't mean hazardous radiation isn't still hanging around after all these years. In the end, it is based on the amount of radioactive fallout dispersed initially, and what isotopes are present in said fallout.

Watching the stuff for the show makes me want to play Fallout New Vegas, which is a good idea since they are ruini...updating Fallout 4 like they did Skyrim. Judging from how long I played Skyrim LE after the AE update, I bet I will be putting in a lot of NV time!

they always get radioactivity wrong... the reason its dangerous is its speed of decay. so if it lasts for decades, it isnt dangerous < unless you eat it >

Given that the animal life in the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone seems to be largely, well, just fine, I think we can reasonably say that the mutations in Fallout are pretty clearly just cool fantasy.

I am a fallout gamer, so this series is long overdue. I will admit that this story is nothing like what I was expecting--which is a good thing. I will admit that the story would be better off without certain scenes, for plotting, because they have no ties to the games.

"Life in Chernobyl has flourished and the land is pristine" She actually serious? Besides the fact that all organisms died and the entire land had to be turned over multiple times... and every building and structure abandoned... there are still places that will end you in minutes... "Life" from the outside passing through and ending due to DNA damage a few years later is hardly "flourishing"...

Nagasaki and Hiroshima were both repopulated as soon as basic services and shelter were up and running - the radiation subsided very quickly.
