After witnessing pain allegedly kill hinata right in front of him, he immediately went into 6 tails mode, and throughout the pain fight he almost unleashed the nine tails until Minato's chakra stopped him. So after he regained his mind and went back to normal he forgot everything that happened before he unleashed the nine tail's chakra.

This happened with the NarutoxSakura ship from what I understood. It was supposed to be that, but then halfway through Kishinito decided to change it to NarutoxHinata. Hinata had very little character development overall too, so it would make sense that it was a near last minute change.

You know why because he knew that Naruto was being mistreated and bullied but he never once told anyone to cut their shit out or told the children to be nicer to him. He just stood by and allowed it to happen. He’s lucky Naruto didn’t end up like Gaira and terrorize anyone because he might’ve come pretty close to it, when he found out he was a jinchuriki, if not for Iruka’s intervention.

Glow down might be a good way of putting it. Somewhere in shippuden is when things started getting somewhat disappointing. The shinobi war arc just dragged on too long and somehow lost its luster, and then the final fight with Sasuke and Naruto left me disappointed for some reason. I could say the same about the Wano arc in One Piece except said arc was very intriguing and just kept my attention.

First of all, almost every single long running anime writer make stuff up as the story goes, even Oda himself said he does it. Second of all, most people have 0 clue of how hard it is to write a story let alone a good one. That makes no sense; "stellar educational background" has nothing to do with (nor is it even related to) a Konoha ninja's rank in Naruto, which is established to be meritocratic in nature in this setting, as is usually the case in real life. Of course, education gives one an advantage in attaining a position of authority, but those who show themselves to have the SKILLS for the job generally have more upward mobility in a given field regardless of educational background in any system that's not broken by some manner of major social issue. Stalin's purges are the first such issue to come to mind as an example. Other exceptions exist, but even those that have a tie to education either depend on career choice or only have said connection on a surface level. The informed don't go to Harvard or Yale for the education; they go there to make friends in high places. Of course, that's not to say it's easy to get a job if you're a dropout, but Naruto's not a dropout, is he? Speaking of, Naruto's perceived incompetence and bad grades are a much better vehicle for that commentary and giving him that promotion as a result of his actions, as a result of the skills and cleverness he showed, despite the hard time he had performing well in the academy, would've been a far more adept execution of said commentary. If anything, keeping him such a low rank shows that he isn't worthy of a higher one because of his flaws, rather than that he is worthy despite them.

In the Ninja world, the rank is equivalent to educational degree. Which is one of the reason why Naruto can be Hokage. Essentially Genin is elementary school, any higher ranks are akin to attending community college and university. (case of point, they limit what kind of mission you can take...) There are many examples of high school drop outs had become successful become CEOs, become famous artist or even governors, presidents. Schools don't go back and give them a degree just because of their fame, at best they give them a "honorary degree". I feel it's a commentary on the importance of educational background (or more accuratly shows one can still be great without a robust educational background). Plus it's hard to get a degree after dropping out in far East Asian countries like Japan and China. (There are ways to obtain a Bachelor's degree but there is a lot of learning and prepare for tests). They won't give a degree in business just because you become a successful business man.

in one of the last episodes it is implied that he needed to pass chunin and jonin to be hokage so if he became the 7th that means that he reached jonin idk why people still have the notion or belief that he never advanced his rank
