+Theon Daisley Yeah, I'm surprised that not a single Jim Carrey character, especially form his early 90s roles (Ace Ventura, the Mask, Lloyd Christmas, the Riddler...even the Cable Guy!) didn't make this list.

+Theon Daisley It is weird how he was omitted, but then again Jim Carrey just pushes it so hard that you can't really get invested in it. Like in Pet Detective, he was so overtly, transparently an actor pushing it to 11 non-stop, there's not really much room to actually be weirded out because he just throws you out of it. All of his roles just feel forced to me. However, by that same standard, Pee-Wee Herman shouldn't really be on here either. In fact, Pee-Wee had that as his schtick, that character is what he had spent years doing, similarly Jim Carrey has always more or less played the same kind of character in his comedies, he's always playing Jim Carrey in a grinch costume or jim carrey in a hawaiian shirt, with some superficial variety, but his roles aren't really that unique from each other - barring his dramatic roles like Truman. However, other people like Tim Curry and The Depp do deserve this list, because their capable of a one-off character unique to a single movie. Overall, I think this list is biased for choice, there's such a wide field to draw from.

Frank Booth (Dennis Hopper)in David Lynch's surprisingly sentimental,, one-of-a-kind film, Blue Velvet. Here's another one of Lynch's creations, the Mystery Man played by Robert Blake in Lost Highway. And people wonder why I don't have a mobile phone.

Mercutio! He should have topped that list as THE eccentric character... both in movies and plays. He was played really well by Harold Perrineau in 1996. (super over the top)

Hey, Chris Tucker did a great job on Fifth Element. Frankly, Ruby Rhod was probably the least annoying role so far. That said, I haven't seen to many of his movies to begin with.

There are some other eccentric characters in movies who were overlooked. BEVERLY HILLS COP. THE NUTTY PROFESSOR. PEE-WEE'S BIG ADVENTURE. PINK FLAMINGOS. SHERLOCK HOLMES. TOOTSIE. ZOOLANDER.

Tim curry is the best. From the devil in Legend, the alien transvestite in Rocky horror, original pennywise, to the villain in ferngully, doviculous in brutal legend, and Tim curry playing Tim curry in real life.. He is a legend.
