That happens to a large percentage of musicians. Their drug use becomes public knowledge and then they are forever associated with that substance. The Beatles (acid, weed), The Rolling Stones (heroin, coke), Bob Marley (weed), Bob Dylan (weed, speed), ect.

You have to have balls of solid steel to try to rank a Bob Marley top 10 list. I personally think that these songs are unrankable and will just change depending on your mood and the time of day, all of these songs are worthy of number 1. It was just good to hear them and the commentary, thanks for the list.

I'm Jamaican (live in Canada now). Bob has national hero status back home, a lot of people refer to him as "The Legendary Bob". Personally my favourite songs by Marley were mostly sung in Jamaican patois such as "Iron Lion" and "Duppy Conqueror". Bob had strong political opinions but stronger spiritual ones hoping that someday we could all come together in freedom, love, respect, truth & justice for a better world, for all people everywhere. Much of his inspiration came from his personal observations, Rastafarai religion, world history & African proverbs. Jamaica and it's people have a very rich and complex history & culture - he took that and put it on a global platform in a way that everyone and anyone can relate to. We are very proud of him. I hope his dream of unity, peace & freedom for all will come true someday...
