What Snowden did is not the equivalent of telling your sister her husband is cheating on her, but rather telling your parents friends and relatives what they really think of them: yes, you told the truth and some of it may be common sense, but at what cost? We don't need to know how the sausage is made and some truths do not always need to come out. Snowden did it for selfish reasons and along the lines of some people just want to see the world burn.
