Anime and manga suck. Dragon Ball caught my attention when I was 8 but the only “anime” I’ve liked even a little bit as an adult was The Boondocks; and according to gatekeeping internet nerds, since Boondocks was created by an American, it’s not even an anime.

No...because Goku vs Cell was just a warm up to Gohan vs Cell. Frieza vs Goku was emotional, personal and filled with racial hatred. Goku vs Frieza was epic beyond any scale because so much was at stake, including the Namekean race right to exist

There are many legendary moments in anime history. Goku’s transformation to super sayain on Nemek goes beyond legendary. This was ICONIC. Something that many other anime try to emulate but can’t quite capture.

*Goku Vs. Vegeta(& Majin) and Goku/Gohan Vs. Cell should be in the Top 3. Yes… Goku Vs Jiren was absolutely amazing and literally broke streaming services/internet when it came out. But it still didn’t add up to the years of writing, tension, and passion that all led up to those epic moments.*

My favorite part of the Gohan vs. Perfect Cell match was, oddly enough, when PIccolo, Tien, Krillin and even _Yamcha_ throw themselves at Cell, even when they know they have no chance at all of hurting him. They refused to give up, until they couldn't physically stand up anymore. Because that's what heroes do.

No surprise Goku vs Frieza took #1. Although I personally think there are superior fights in the series there is no doubt that this one is the most Iconic in the franchise.

Love the inclusion of Goku vs Jackie Chun at #29. My favorite fight of the series, so funny, well paced, and moved the story forward.

it was the moment of realization for Goku to seek for stronger opponents only and not to beat them into a pulp or to showcase how stronger he is. Goku was humbled forever by that very moment, the words of Roshi saying that "there's always someone who's better than you" lingered into his mind forever. it wasn't great as Jiren vs Goku's final confrontation but the message of that fight was so surreal.

Yeah, that Jackie Chun alter ego that Master Roshi had was to basically prevent a pupil of his becoming overconfident by winning the tournament. That they should learn more about martial arts before he really can handle a win. He gives full detail of that to Tien after he forfeits the clash with him in the next tournament.

When I watched the DBS Broly movie I was impressed by how brutal yet beautiful the fights were. Especially the stardust breaker(I think that’s the name) in the Gogeta fight.

I love when Baby Vageta reverses MajUub’s candy Beam which turns him into Chocolate and then MajUub turns himself back to normal and wreaks havoc on Baby’s stomach. I know GT is technically not cannon because Toriyama wasn’t involved in it’s creation and was relegated to an advisory position for the show.

I like the original DB more myself, I thought going super and beyond was a little too much and too extreme. Being so powerful that you could destroy the world by accident if you're not careful, and making all the other fighters look like weaklings, well, I don't really find that exciting and I wouldn't want to be that strong.

Goku vs Frieza is the best fight in the series. Yeah it's a mess with all the other events going on, but when the hero and villain go at it, it is truly something epic. I just wish Frieza pulled out the Supernova at the climax. Honorable mention to Goku + Frieza + Android 17 vs Jiren. A very epic little sprint to the end of the tournament.

Goku vs Krillin as well as Goku vs Tien (22nd World Martial Arts tournament) should’ve been somewhere on this list, both of those fights are fantastic to watch. Also feel that Goku vs Piccolo Jr should’ve been higher, at least top 10

@@starter47990 softening? he gave him senzu bean to recover so he won't have any excuses when Gohan gives him a pummeling of a lifetime which happened eventually. Goku voluntarily went first to throw down with Cell so Gohan will get a read of his moves, power, accuracy, speed, and timing altogether so he won't struggle that much since he already know what was about to happen. Goku gave up when he thought Gohan already have the countermeasures for Cell at that point and it was proven right because even Piccolo noticed that Goku did it on purpose.

I guess we’re not counting the Moro and Granolah arcs. I thought Toyotarou paneled them well, allowing readers to see the flow of movements, and how differently each character moves. The Goku Susanoo was probably thought up with future anime in mind. I just think we missed an opportunity to make the planet eater into planet food for daring to fuse with the Earth. Did I mention that Gas hits Goku with a train? Twice?! Out of this list, my top three are Cell Max, Broly, and Kefla. Can’t pick an order. But I like that a woman was able to make Goku go all out. Surfing the beam is meme-worthy. Under-appreciated fights are Vegeta vs Magetta for the latter’s use of the limited arena and heat-based attacks, the Garlic Jr saga for just letting people not named Goku and Vegeta shine, and finally Goku vs Oolong. Yes, Oolong. Whomever taught Oolong and Puar to shapeshift could themselves be a dangerous foe someday.

I love how they spent all of that time building up Gohan to the point where he surpassed even Goku, only to then throw all of it away and make Gohan a complete loser. I still can’t get over that.

If the movies count: Future Trunks going SSJ is top 5 for sure :) Kid Goku's rage after Krillin's 1st death is up there too. Kid Goku reunited with grandpa Gohan. The gang (and Goten) reunited with Goku in the Buu saga (tournament arc).
