The hatred of Ashley in RE4 is definitely overblown. The game is about precision aim and crowd control. All Ashley does is further stress those core skills. Functionally, she makes your hit box bigger, so you have to keep more space between you and the enemies than you did before (crowd control). She also obstructs sight lines for a half second before ducking, so you need a little more time before taking your shots (crowd control again). And when she gets grabbed you have to free her without hitting her (precision aiming). It’s the same thing you’ve been doing in the game with an added wrinkle that makes it more demanding with less room for error. As a “game piece” she fits into the core skills and dynamics of the game perfectly fine.

Over time it gets annoying and you still have to learn precision aiming even before Ashley. It just feels irritating when she gets in the way so much

Ashley even stays and hides anywhere. She actually listens to you and you can place her outside of harm's way. She's actually not as bad as people like to yell.

And if you bear with it and finish the game, the knight armour/costume will be unlocked and Ashley is literally unkillable and even the enemies drop her because of the heavy weight of her armour😂

To be fair to Slippy, he's the analyst, and much of which direction the game goes in and the kind of levels you can get to revolve around him. This is why he's at risk a lot, because without him, you can't see your enemies' health gage, which makes the game more difficult, and prevents you from getting to certain levels.

As a Borderlands fan, I honestly think Tyreen and Troy aren't THAT terrible. Handsome Jack was just TOO awesome to follow up. They're basically the equivalent to whoever the sad saps were that came out after the Beatles on the Ed Sullivan show.

My main gripe with them was actually that there should've been more of them. There were hints of layers beneath their online personas, but they weren't sufficiently explored, I felt.

a lot of the FF13 characters are taken at just face value, you do a little digging, watch the cutscenes etc, a lot of their character traits are explained somewhere as to why they're like that.

The most annoying character to me is kronica from mortal kombat she teleports everywhere, has moves that are hard to dodge, shell summon characters to fight for her if you get her health to a certain amount. The best you can do is just spamm kicking.

To me Fi is far more annoying than Navi! Navi was actually helpful for the player due to Ocarina Of Time is the first 3D Zelda game, while Fi just kept on repeating the same things over and over again that the player knows!

Padme from the Star Wars Phantom Menace Pc game was my pick for most annoying. There was a level in the game where your sole objective was to protect her and keep her from getting killed so what does she do? She keeps running in front of you. It is kind of hard to protect someone who does not stay behind you. There were times during the level where I was tempted to kill her myself.

Ok.... While vanille isn't the best character in ff13.... Hope is FAR more annoying than her And for the Navi part you should have included the clip from oneyplays playthrough where he jumps down in the great deku tree and glitches in the spider web and Navi repeatedly going "HEY HEY HEY HEY HEY" as he goes up and down

Here are a couple of dishonorable mentions: - Simon Krieger and the Tinkerer (Spiderman: Miles Morales): One is a smug corporate sociopath who made Carnage look like a saint by comparison. And the other is an angry idiot who failed to gain the players' sympathy. - The Beetle (Donkey Kong 64): Not only is she infamous for cheating, but her laugh is irritating to listen to !

And of course the (dis)honorable mentions; Magikarp - Pokémon series (1996-present) - All you do is splash, splash, splash. Your lucky you evolve into something cooler. Bubsy Bobcat - Bubsy series (1993-2019) - You know it's bad when the MAIN CHARACTER is the annoying part of the game. Omochao - Sonic Adventure 2 (2001) - We all wanted to spin dash this thing into scrap metal. Luka - Bayonetta series (2009-present) - This asshole is why umbra witches stay single. Propeller Knight - Shovel Knight (2014) - And we thought his level was annoying. Fisher - Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage (1999) - If we hear "trouble with the trolly 'eh?" one more time...!!! Starlow - Mario & Luigi series (2003-2018) - Hey, leave Luigi alone! Dante - DmC: Devil May Cry (2013) - This is not the Dante we know and love. And where's his white hair?!

Mr. Resetti was meant to be annoying because it was meant to be a punishment. Personally, I think he was a pretty effective deterrent to keep you from shutting down without saving. Also, in a couple of the games if you made him mad enough his much more chill brother would show up instead which was neat.

If I had to mention someone its, Abby from the last of us part 2. She kills Jol she was more than happy to murder a pregnant woman one day she's eating lunch with a bunch of people and later she straight up guns down entire squads of them. And she's a character the game fail to make players sympathize with.

I understand why you included Navi, but I personally thought Fi was more annoying. Every time she would interrupt my game just to tell me my Wii Remote batteries were low drove me crazy! I was like, "Yeah, I know they're low, the console already told me this when I turned on the controller! SHUT UP!"

Leopold Strauss from Red Dead 2 is also a really annoying errand boy character. it's really satisfying when Arthur tells him to get the fuck out. good list.

I think Sadie was a lot worse, even worse than Mica. Strauss was just a shady errand boy character. Sadie was a psychopath that refused to think straight and constantly put the gang in danger for no reason.

Fi is infinitely more annoying than Navi....and Vanille is my 2nd favorite character in the XIII trilogy after Lightning ( frankly I found Hope a lot more irritating ) also: Omochao ( Sonic series ) Big the Cat ( Sonic series ) Hurk ( Far Cry series )

I think Playtime from Baldi's Basics should have been given an honorable mention. She's quite a real nuisance who doesn't leave you alone until after jumping rope.

Ughh.. the problem isn't Sheva, it's the AI. And I know this because when you play as Sheva, Chris is just as bad! So I don't hate Sheva at all, because then I'd have to hate Chris for the same reason.

Everyone hates on Slippy in StarFox 64, but the one that REALLY aggravates me is Peppy! Think about it: He's CONSTANTLY backseat driving you, or in other words, keeps telling you what to do! "Do a barrel roll!" "Go through the rings!" do this and do that. Please, shut up and let me think! X( I usually "friendly fire" him so he's not in the level or the next while his ship is getting repairs. :p

Plus, he's more prone to damage and, therefore, harder to keep active than Slippy, as well as the only one besides Fox who's prone to shooting down friendly aircraft on Katina.
