For this list, we’ll be looking at superhero games that, for one reason or another, never made it through production. Our countdown includes a cancelled tie-in for "The Dark Knight" (2008), an adaptation of the "Gotham By Gaslight" (1989) comic, an MMORPG called "Marvel Universe Online," an open-world game starring The Flash, and more! lots of superheroes have abilities that could make for an incredible gameplay mechanic that could be used in combat and puzzles. Daredevil's radar sense, Flash's super speed, Ant-Man's size-shifting...

One superpower I'd really like to see fleshed out (or phased out) is intangibility (or quantum tunneling or phasing). A game about a character like Kitty Pryde from the X-Men or Lemillion from My Hero Academia. The problem is that they'd be able to pass through virtually any surface in the game's map (save for maybe special locations designed to negate their powers), but it would be cool to see a game pull it off.

Not happening tbh. Superman is suppose d to embody the principles of true man with strength and honor and such male representation is pretty much non-existent. They would rather depict a version of superman kissing some dude

@@solid_justice5855 I have an idea. Since Spider-Man had automatic parkour, the devs could make an auto evasion mechanic, so you can't bump into anything if you didn't want to.

The Flash, and Superman games looked great! I wouldn't mind seeing a game based on Green Arrow, Wonder Woman, the Question, Constantine, Booster Gold, or Ted Kord's Blue Beetle, either. If only DC knew how much of a gold mine they're sitting on in terms of video games, man...

An Arkham-esque Daredevil game would totally rock. Daredevil is a martial artist like Batman so Arkham's free flow combat would fit him like a glove and Daredevil's radar sense could very well be his Detective Mode.

This makes me remember a game. Hulk ultimate destruction should’ve gotten a sequel or been remade. Edit: As a matter of fact I even remember gun showdown which definitely should’ve had a sequel or been remade. To me that was THE ORIGINAL red dead redemption.

I seen an interview with a developer that said it's a hard game to make bc he has no weaknesses and all kinds of powers. So it's hard to come up with a game with villains that do any kind of damage

Some of these games I doubt would've turned out very good but some of them I'm still astounded that there seemingly hasn't been another strong attempt to make happen like the Flash or Superman

So I have technically made number 1 on a WatchMojo list! I was the Producer for Blue Steel at F5. I mainly maintained our games budget, created our milestone schedule with Brash, made sure we submitted milestones on time. The Designers, Artists and Engineers were the real stars of the project!

They really ought to revisit the idea of creating a game for The Flash, especially considering Grant Gustin's portrayal on the CW and Ezra Miller's upcoming solo movie.

@@king_vision4085 if they could do the bullet time sequences in the PS4 Spider-Man game, as well as the high-speed sequences in the various Need for Speed games and other car-racing games, I don't see how they couldn't manage something similar for a Scarlet Speedster game.

@@Malachi_Risinger Zorro. If you mean in-universe, then yes, Batman acknowledged an aging Shadow as a big inspiration. If by the character's creation, it's Zorro.

@@BrokenNoah Actually, both Zorro and the Shadow influenced Batman's creation. Bob Kane cited the Shadow as a large inspiration in the creation of Batman. Even Batman's first appearance in Detective Comics 27 was a clear ripoff of the Shadow story "Partners in Peril." Btw Zorro was also shown as a major inspiration for Batman in-universe.

Both of Brash Entertainment games (Flash and Superman) look very good! It's really a bummer they never got the chance to show their vision. The Flash one seems particularly interesting for me, and the Superman one has a Zack Snyder feel in some of the punches. Looks dope.

Gotham By Gaslight was originally gonna be a shooter game. The controls had slow mo, reloading, peeking, aiming and shooting.

The amount of environmental destruction in these games makes me hope for a current gen title with similar amounts of destruction. A spiritual successor to The Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction done well would be amazing.

They really need to start branching out with characters on both dc and marvel. It's cool they got a Spiderman game, avengers game and etc. Same with batman. But I would loveeeeee to see a proper flash game or ghost rider game or hell even a decent superman game that utilizes his abilities to new heights and NO MORE EVIL SUPERMAN STORIES.

Marvel Universe Online would've been interesting to play, sadly it was canceled but we did get Neverwinter, Star Trek Online and DC Universe Online which is ongoing still.

The title should've been call top 10 canceled Comic Book video games because the 2 canceled superhero video games that were not based comics or a comic book based movies are Super Mario's Wacky Worlds & Sonic Extreme. Super Mario's Wacky World was for the Philips CDI & was advertised as a true sequel to Super Mario World & the first Mario game on a non-Nintendo console since Super Mario Bros. Special by Hudson for PC-8801, Sharp X1 & Samsung SPC-1500. And Sonic Extreme was going to be the first open-world 3D platforming Adventure for the Sonic franchise.
