One thing you failed to mention about Bill Burr's monologue: It was also funny as hell. Someone somewhere is always going to be offended when a comedian touches on a topic that's even remotely controversial, particularly in this era populated by people who have no sense of humor and would rather spend their time in a state of perpetual outrage. Not only do I respect Burr for never backing off his style of comedy, I hope more comedians stay the course and double down when they're criticized.

Thank you for including monologues that are controversial for good reasons. The bad/awkward ones are hard to watch, but thank you for including Nanjiani and Ansari, as sometimes people need to say the things they said, AND be funny at the same time.

The issue was Saturday Night Live is they saw their jobs as making political statements instead of political satire. And if anybody with an opposing political view ever came onto the platform, they were meant to be playing the worst possible character ever.

A number of these moments are certainly controversial, but a few are just signs the show is past its prime.
