Thank you for posting this, I leaned heavily toward attending technical programming during NCECA and clearly missed some great talks. I'd never been able to square up with Nut/Funk--It's always a treat to have a chance to change my mind.

A few caveats/apologies. I was working without notes. Of course I know that Vermillion is in South Dakota! I hope my affection for David Zack is also apparent, despite calling him a "dumpster fire" of a human being. It's complicated.
