I love that Giyu is humble about his place amongst the Hashira, but I’m sure Inosuke would be singing his praises and then some.✨🐗✨

Bro was star struck when he saw tsutako😂 But in all honest, seeing Giyuu's backstory animated made me tear up, it was so emotional and the scene where he was crying made it so impactful. But another thing I noticed is how similar giyu and shinobu are, well backstory wise, but its kinda scary.

There! FINALLY a reactor notices the missing Makomo. It was bugging the hell out of me when watching this episode that after it I had to look up, I'd had it in my head they were siblings and both died during the same mission. Turns out they weren't related officially, they were adopted by Urokodaki and Makomo died a year before Sabito went to the Final Selection.

thats murata! another thing, makomo took the final selection prior to sabito and giyuu. she was mentioned with him because they were the ones that stood out to the hand demon. sabito and makomo met in the afterlife

It's emotional that the scene where Sabito saved giyu is depicted in the same way as the scene where he saved Tanjiro in the battle with Rui in Natagumo Mountain.

Additional Background for Giyuu that I think was shown in one of the Mugen Episode Endings is that after Tsutako was killed Giyuu tried to explain to everyone that she was killed by a demon but everyone didn't believe and thinks he's mentally ill because of his loss and decided to take him to his distant relative who is a doctor. Giyuu, devastated and in disbelief run away before that could happen and was almost dead in a snowy mountain when a hunter found him and brought him to Urokodaki, where he met Sabito. (In this timeline he was 13)

Giyu is in my personal top 5 favorite character he's shy but a pure gentle guy with a big heart only thing is that big heart of his is very sensitive after the painful sad experiences he went through Tsukato Sabito gone forever. Basically he's afraid to loose people that he really loves. However they always believed in him to be stronger and never give up and be happy despite all that and Tanjiro also believes in Giyu to be a better version of himself while moving forward and I really love the Tanjiro and Giyu relationship both are pure gentle calm and funny one always shows it that's Tanjiro while the other hides it that's Giyu but when he shows it is nice. Tanjiro came a long way since the very beginning Giyu helped him and still does and now Tanjiro is able to help him too thanks to his improvement and Giyu's support and just wanna add...these are 2 very kindhearted individuals you never want to see their very angry side like you've gone too far.

The soba scene and the end credits really shows how closer Giyu is to Tanjiro now after that backstory talk, it's so sweet😭❤️

If you go back and watch Giyu’s interactions with Tanjiro and Nezuko in the very first episode when they meet, it hurts much harder knowing his backstory.

You want some Yoriichi backstory, man? Demon Slayer got you. For me, his backstory is one of the most heartbroken in the series. A lot of amazing and misfortunes come in his life that makes him who he was until the very end of his life. You gonna love to see his backstory. Also, love your shirt, man! The design is 100/10.

I feel like I need to point something out, for anybody who thinks this was solved too simply, or via "Talk no jutsu" or something. Tanjiro DID NOT solve this just by saying one sentence, which magically fixed Giyu's depression. That's not what happened. Giyu already knew everything in order to fix himself, Tanjiro literally reminded him of something that Sabito told him in the past. So Giyu had all of the memories and perspectives necessary to believe in himself. Except, since season 1, we've seen Giyu be a loner. Usually it's played for comedy, but it's there. He's disliked by everyone, but he also isolates himself, he never interacts with people more than he needs to. Giyu refuses friendship or companionship every chance he gets. If Giyu let any other Hashira get close to him, this exact same conversation would've happened, anyone would have said what Tanjiro did. Tanjiro's unique way of solving the problem, beyond "Talk no jutsu", was being persistent. He was so annoyingly, posititively clingy that he forced Giyu to interact with him. That's the unique part. Nobody else but Tanjiro was willing to break down that initial shell that got Giyu talking. Once he persisted enough, everything was already solved. This was the first time Giyu let himself open up about the past, because beforehand, he was so shut-off with himself that he wouldn't think about why he did what he did. This is an actual, real character flaw of Giyu, and an interesting one, which was explored for a long time, and gets elaborated on even later in the story (we're not done with him just because we got his backstory). He's so obsessed with being angry and disappointed with himself, that he managed to stave off an incredibly easy resolution to his depression, just through isolation and stubbornness. It's like a self-destructive thing.
