My town only has two bands (we were the second), so I think it might be pretty easy because our songwriters’ sister is in the other band!

Thats a very true thing that I use to struggle with. In the end you just gotta say fuck them. Fuck the other people. People will bully for anything if it’s not bc you’re in a band it’ll be bc your clothes or your looks or your family or anything. Just do your thing and don’t ever let others decide who you will be bc those who bully are already showing who they are and will be. Don’t let anyone crush your ambitions bc 10 times out of 10 if you’re suddenly thought of as cool for being in a good band they would suddenly wanna be your friend.

I never thought about this till now, but the English are more fashion-conscious than Americans. Aside from the fact that we Americans don't use the word "shop" for "store" outside a few specific uses, I think the American attitude is that the cooler you are, the less you know about coutour. Fuck it. However it's spelled. A band in America, ever since Nirvana, if not long before that, wants to be iconoclastic. That may be disingenuous, but to posture is still to make a stance. An American band might take pains to convince you their clothes were just what was on top of the laundry pile and definitely not something they cared about. English bands maybe it's the opposite. Cultural difference. I find it interesting. A sociological topic.
