I have not long started watercolour classes and yesterday our tutor introduced the class to your work, didn't know that watercolour could be so much fun and the freedom to splash colour around. Love it.

Creating foggy areas in paintings is your signature move. It showcases the focal point dramatically and appeals to the eye like nothing else!

Love that you let the viewer finish the painting . Amazing!!

John Lovett, I just started painting with watercolor and somehow I tripped upon your book for beginners. My 10 year old son and I have become avid fans and though I know it's important to find our own styles we are really in awe of your work. We'll be ordering your DVD soon. This video was fantastic!!!

Great job, John. Please upload more videos of you painting. I enjoy painting wet-on-wet in water-colour and would like to learn more about mixed techniques, both in water-colour and acrylics.

One of the best. I wish he'd reprint his book. I just bought 'Getting Started', but his first book I could only find s used copy for over $1100.
@ryanoconnor79573 жыл бұрын
wow that is expensive, especially considering the marked up profit isn't going to John.

My teacher always says not to work with square brush and to wash all the colours with water(not to have streight edges) when painting in watercolour. I see you have streight edges but still looks cool! Nice video

does anyone know what's that technique he does to make the background look all blured?
@romanaz1002 жыл бұрын
he uses diluted gesso first and then spread it out with a big hake brush

Are you aware that the music you use here is a drummer playing not with drum sticks but with "brushes." Great metaphor or quite ironic.
