Well thank you for that insight. I was planning on asking you to describe uses for why to trim up and trim down. I can’t wait to receive my GTR 230 soon. It was supposed to be a may delivery but looks like it should ship from Texas on the 7th. So not that delayed considering other businesses supply problems this year. You have been a great help these last few months for me to learn about the pwc driving/theory/maintenance. Thank you

I've discovered on my '22 FishPro, the trim display on the dash is a little misleading. While flushing the exhaust last week, I blipped the throttle to put it in Forward. With the trim set to the middle two mark position on the display, which I thought would be neutral position on the jet nozzle, the nozzle was tilted down a little. So I pushed the down VTS button to full down on the display and the nozzle was tilted further down. I then pushed the up VTS button to full up on the display and the nozzle was perfectly aligned with the jet output. I did all this within the 90 seconds allowed so I verified it two more times after rides and cooldowns. I also found that with the VTS all the way up, straight through on the nozzle, the ST3 hull is way more forgiving of cross waves and fast turns. At mid position on the display, 57 mph is top speed. At full up on the display, I can hit 59 mph. Now I wonder if the RXTX300 has the same positions with the nozzle relative to the display or if it actually tilts up at the high end. Like trim tabs on the boat. There is no "UP". Just varying degrees of down.

Hi Kevin, i do a lot of long range touring on my ultra 310. I had a thought sorry if it’s stupid but I’m not scientifically minded. I thought to assist with buffeting and drag would a high rise screen work ( like on motorcycles) to guide the air over the person instead of hitting a flat surface of a person also how would you measure drag as I carry a lot of gear of my camping trip 40-50kg in the front and 40-50kg back ( for fuel). Appreciate any insight

The extra weight isn't helping that hefty Ultra. We've seen a few employ windscreens, but again, the MPG gain is NEGLIGIBLE. Most just use it to keep the cold ocean spray off of them. Unfortunately, an unexpected ejection can throw a person into the windscreen or worse, on top of it. We don't recommend one.

@@watercraftjournal thanks for the insight. I might not bother with the screen. My camping setup is constantly evolving to get weight down. My current thought is just carrying one 10 or 20lt fuel can emergency and refuel at marina’s

My fzr does best just over plane. The more I can stay out of boost but still on the top the longer the fuel lasts. Between 35 and 45 mph seems to work well I've noticed. I usually stay one notch over flat on the trim.

Question- If you do powerslides or quick 180s, does that cause the wear ring to wear out quicker on the Sea doo ski? If so, why?

Wcj are the experts and I'm sure they'll answer you as well but I'm Pretty confident that that will not cause issues with the wear ring worst enemy of the wear ring is sand,rocks and other debris from operating the ski in shallow water or rough beaching etc

Tee, no it shouldn’t at all. Jumping the ski CAN misalign the motor mounts though. And as Con said, the quickest way to kill your carbon seal is sand and debris by beaching it or piloting in very shallow water.

@@watercraftjournal Whew, thanks brother. I was hearing some talk about this on Facebook- Sea doo GTR 230 riders group. And the talk was that the carbon seal would wear out faster by doing 180s. Thanks for the info and don't stop making these great videos.

I have an Yamaha EXR. If I go 45-5mph, I’m giving more gas. If I give less gas and go 30-35mph I have more drag. What is the answer?

You've got the smallest, lightest vessel in the fleet. These hydrodynamics scarcely apply.

Above 20 for sure - in most cases, larger PWC reach full plane at 35-40.

Riva just started emailing customers on a pump wege for gpr's. kindof a waste because if you have their ride plate you cant even runn full trim up without porpoisng worse than senor flipper.
