A Watford boy here, living 5 minutes from the stadium. It’s funny how my friend Micky Leigh introduced me to this group, she’s lives in NC and has only just discovered football ( soccer).

The Hert in Hertfordshire is pronounced like the word 'Heart' :) Great video btw

And while we're on the subject of pronunciations, the 'A' in the name of the club, and the town, is pronounced as an 'O' - as in 'hot'.

I might be crazy here but I knew the pronunciation of Watford and thought I pronounced it the proper way throughout the video. I just watched again and believe I'm saying it correctly. Am I not?

Apologies for my pronunciation of "Hertfordshire" in the video. Special thanks to @watfordnyc (twitter.com/watfordnyc) for clarifying that it should have been pronounced as "HART-fed-sheer"

Really good video but unfortunately Watford have never won the 2nd Division. Otherwise a great video.

You’re 100% correct. The combination of Watford winning the Championship playoffs twice and winning the old 3rd division which was called the Football League Second Division at the time scrambled my brain. Thanks for pointing this out.

We did win the 2nd division championship, beating Fulham in the final game of the season 2-1 to pip Bristol city to it
