I just wanted to say Thanyou for these conversations , through the pandemic when I was locked in my business and alone , these conversations were a highlight of the month. Seems an age ago now but still appreciated

From Australia and 100% in agreement. The other thing are Mark's book talks. They are a great way to get a summary of where economics has been and where its headed.

Mark, as per usual, doing a great compressed story of past 15 years of GFC, CB-policy, inflation, capital (mis)allocation etc. Looking forward to the book!

Speaking of forever wars, no mention of Anthony Blinken's statement about Ukraine on path to join NATO? (which cannot happen while they are in active conflict)

I think the problem is when conservatives say: "The average wages are up, the economy is doing well" people drink the kool-aid. When liberals say it: "Oh ew yucky elites lying to the working man." I don't think the facts sways opinion, just who delivers them and how.

I’m generally positively disposed towards your thinking but: 1a) kinda weird that you think that the justice system is a simple cat’s paw of “them” and that numerous cases in different jurisdictions can be turned on and off, at will, depending on political advantage. 1b) I know of numerous trump supporters who, previous the indictments, would say that if trump was a criminal, then why wasn’t he charged with anything. Never mind that they now think like you, and that all of the cases are strictly political in nature. 2) Friedman was right in a limited extent, as when he wrote that, the US was a relatively closed system with limited feeds from external sources. I think he would have changed his mind if he saw the extent of trade and interdependence of the world.
