You don't need Diomand Armer or armor at all, since the Warden can basically kill you quickly just as fast, I usually just enter the Ancient City completely bare

Don't panic if you accidentally summon in a Warden, panicking will probably get you killed. Trust me, I did the enderpearl death and the elytra death in about the first half hour of being in my first Ancient City. Hopefully, as you've been wondering around the city you've been making a wool parth, or better yet, surrounding the shreakers and sensors with wool so they can't tell the Warden where you are while making your escape. I discovered that the animation with the Warden coming out of the ground gives you plenty of time to get more then 30 blocks from the Warden so it can't sonic boom your or sniff out where you are. Once you're out of reach, just wait for the Warden to dig back into the ground, then get back to your exploration...... just be a little more careful this time😊

I haven't tried it with the warden yet, but I'm making my base in an ancient city and building an army of snow golems. So far it looks like an evil winter wonderland

The video already included the main tips of night vision and wool, but there are more. Tip 1: Remember that this is all about patience rather than speed. Speed is only to be used when the warden shows up. Tip 2: Make sure that you always have a place to run to. This means that you should make a straight (not necessarily completely straight, but as simple as possible) and safe roadway into and out of the ancient city. This roadway should not require jumping any gaps, because you might mess that up when panicking. Also, the roadway should be lit by torches, so you could find your way when the night vision runs out. Tip 3: Keep count of the noises and subtitles. When the warden "approaches"/"draws near" and such, there is always a unique message. The warden appears on the 4th message. So basically, do not go there if you already have level 3. Instead, just reset it to level 1 by purposefully summoning the warden at the edge of the safe road/tunnel. Tip 4: The warden can 1-hit-kill you from a great range and can detect you through any layer of blocks with in that range. Do not wait around to see him. Use your road/tunnel to get to a distance beyond what's officially the exact limit of safety and then wait until he leaves. Tip 5: When placing wool, do not skimp on the wool. Bring like 10 stacks of wool. Make your path 2 blocks wide, so you wouldn't accidentally step over the edge. Tip 6: The city itself has areas with wool blocks and areas with carpets. Notice that they both keep you quiet, but there is a difference. The carpets still make noise, if you have to jump on them, so do not rely on carpets when you have to build a staircase. Tip 7 (if you plan on staying there): Get yourself a good hoe and systematically eliminate all the shriekers. I raided an ancient city in survival, lit it up with torches, eliminated all the shriekers and never got killed by the warden.

Massive Tip for scaredy cats: If you don’t want Ancient City Audio, You can Also Turn Your Music Audio To 0

Good tip: When a Warden spawns right next to you or really near you, if you're fast enough...dig a 2 block deep hole of 2x2 or 2x3 or 3x3 etc within his spawn area so he cannot jump over and making him trapped inside it. Then make a distance of about 15 or so block, so you can snipe him with your power bow. Just be sure to have a good hoe and pickaxe for that digging.

2 suggestions. 1) Remove the chests as you empty them, so you don't keep coming back to them! 2) In case of warden, dig a 3x4 pit at least 2 deep, and put open trapdoors along the long edges. You can get the Warden to chase you, fall into the pit, and then you can stand back at sufficient length and fire arrows into them until you kill it! (Or, y'know, make it really deep, and just leave the Warden in there.

Ironically was in my ancient city while having this on. Trying to clean out the sensors out of the city, but when the video kept activating the shrieker I would panic turn thinking I set something off lol

I agrees Night Vision potions are great in the Deep Dark and Ancient Cities, but I still light everything up with torches as a personal challenge as part of "safing" all the Ancient Cities. Admittedly, using frog lights or even shroomlights might look cooler, though.

Cover every single shrieker with wool, all six sides, and after that, it'll be impossible to accidentally summon the Warden, and you'll have all the natural shriekers you need in case you later want to make some sort of farm or trap.

Something helpful I thought about adding here regarding shriekers is that the strikes against you actually will decrease after a certain period of time of not activating a shrieker. Basically, if you activated a shrieker 2 times that's 2 strikes, (the 4th activation summons the Warden) but if you don't activate another shrieker (for 10 minutes I believe) then the amount of strikes decreases by one.

I'm already currently clearing out my very first Ancient City on my server, no Night Vision, Elytra and the other End items. Haven't even been to Nether tbh, but I may say, I am succeeding progressing on it via cheapest way possible 😅. When I'm clearing sensors & shriekers and somehow still alerted others elsewhere, I just let it be, start terraforming the other cleared out city parts while waiting for the warning to go down.. Planning on bringing the city back to life with Sniffers. Its way too time consuming but hey, whatever works 😂.

A less moral method to surviving the warden would be to use chicken eggs instead of snowballs to lure the warden. The chickens spawned from the eggs will help distract the warden even longer.

Taking a break from minecraft so the game can feel special to me again.

You should do a challenge with a single biome-Deep Dark world and having to find and make a base inn an Ancient City, with goals to make a base within the city, have a renewable food source, get a recovery compass, the music disc, swift sneak, and full iron (or diamond) armor. It's a fun challenge I've done it before!

Actually, I'm pretty sure skulk is an alien fungus! Similar to how nether wart grows on soul sand, skulk also grows with souls too. They might not be mushrooms in particular but they do like damp dark places and they have a hive mind to utilize dead bodies and souls to protect themselves. If you can, listen to the mining of skulk compared to walking on soul sand with soul speed. It's freakishly similar.

Don't forget to bring an anvil with you. If you find swift sneak, you can apply it to your leggings. Plus, if you need xp you can just mine the sculk.

to add to the wool trick, you can completely cover up any sensor or shrieker with wool and break them one by one and it will never set off the warden, if you do this through the entire city you can make the city completely safe for you to explore

My tips are: - No armor, it won't help anyways - bring a hoe, leave the rest at home - set spawn and chests with backup wool at a shelter at the outscirts of the ancient city - don't use 'noise machines', the Warden won't dig back in if he is aggro on them - if you sumon the warden, start running. The time until he is fully at the surface is enough to get a good headstart - don't mind about the disc pieces. The disc is horse manure ... Have fun!

There's no need to bring any wool. The main walls of the city are filled with wool blocks and wool carpets. Use wool and completely cover up the shriekers. It prevents them from picking up any signals from the sensors. Need to destroy sensors and/or shrieker blocks? Surround them with wool. Then any nearby sensors won't be able to pick up any sound/signals. Surround chests with wool before looting them. It'll reduce the noise and maybe even prevent any sensors from picking up any sound signals. If a warden is summoned, sneak away while it's still digging itself out of the ground. Then stay at least 20 blocks away to stay safe. Warden will try to smell you out so keep the distance. Warden isn't a boss. It's a "regular" mob. There is no gain in killing it. No fancy loot. It's not worth the hassle. Just stay away from it instead. Always sneak as the warden can hear you and it can smell you within 20 blocks. It cannot see you. The warden is blind. Has no eyes. Since no other mobs spawn in the deep dark, and you follow these tips, these ancient cities bring great loot early game with very little effort. I found horse armour and saddles to be very helpful early on. The echanted books was really helpful too. Sneaking in the deep dark is the key to success.

Bring an anvil, preferably an old one that doesn’t have too many uses left. Use it to enchant your pants with Swift Sneak as soon as you find it. It makes exploring the city much easier.

I just dig a hole, place a few trap doors on the inner edge of it so it's path finding will make it fall into it, get back far enough it can't hit you, and shoot arrows or a loyalty trident at it.

... Yesterday I watched this video before going to sleep... and I had nightmares with the Warden... It was really hard to get up to go to work 😢

a while ago my advancements got wiped in my fav minecraft world and I lost 50 of the 52 biomes in the adventure time advancement. and the most ironic thing is, the deep dark, which would have been my 51 biome was my 15th along with 14 other rediscovered biomes. I'm still sad to this day at least a little. has anything like this ever happened to you?

Bring a some blocks home and add them to your block collection wall and within a few days the roof of your building will spread skulk 🤦‍♂️ I eliminated it all before any shriekers grew and I don’t know if the warden will spawn if you let it spread. Could be fun to test out.

I like to loot the ancient cities just using 3 dirt stacks, it's fun, besides I go without armor, I just break the chests and use what they give me, like the regeneration potions and the few edible things so I don't run out hunger. 8:15 that's just one of the things I do, first I go up to locate the structures with loot to go fast, no matter how many wardens are summoned, they disappear after 1 minute, at which time I can go to the other side of the city to continue looting. It's super easy, I don't know why people find it complicated, the most difficult structure is the bastions.

Genuinely I'm curios as to why your recommending ppl wait till late game as the warden does enough damage to 1 shot u regardless of what armor your wearing. I've always thought the loot was op as I have found prot 4 mending diamond legs early as well as plenty of rare materials

Don't take good armour to the ancient city. Just some feather falling boots and a silk touch diamond pickaxe. You won't encounter any mobs, and you won't survive the warden anyway.

The golden apple is actually a key in the structure you find it in. You drop it somewhere to open up a secret area underneath it. I saw it on a Shulkercraft video but haven't found an ancient city yet to try it out

I think the frame in the past had a more macabre use by the ainchient peoples that lived there . Too me in looks like a medieval torture device with the soul fire underneath.

I use double observers to trip a piston and then cheese it with an infinity bow.

I spent 2 days lighting mine up and hanging glow berries from roof..it's my home base now. Warden ain't so scary..

I got massively lucky with an ancient city right below a minecart mine.

I went down to an Ancient City before having full diamond armor 😂 I was just super careful with the shriekers. If I saw one I would sneak up to it and break it with a hoe, if it set off another nearby I would break that then wait for awhile for the warning level to go down.

I don't get why everyone always calls the spyglass useless and use optifine as a reason why. I don't have optifine and don't have a way to use it. That makes spyglasses extremely useful for me. I always make one in every world I have especially when I go exploring either in caves, the nether, or the overworld. I feel like the spyglass was also targeted for pocket edition players anyway.

I don’t know how no one has said this before, but there is a common misconception that once you summon the Warden sneaking away won’t get you away in time. I can say from experience that, even with no Swift Sneak, if you simply hold down sneak and move consistently in any direction away from the Warden, after about 30 seconds or so it will no longer be in sniffing range of you, and you can easily get away. This is because the pace of the player sneaking is faster than the Warden sniffing you out, as long as you have not angered it. So, what if you do in fact summon a Warden? First of all, run for as long as you can hear the “Warden Emerges” sound playing. As soon as that sound ends, shift and cover the remaining distance via sneaking. Never try to open any loot chests while you can hear a Warden sniffing for you. Once you get out of its sniffing range, and you can no longer hear the Warden sniff, wait sixty seconds for it to despawn. If the Warden starts sniffing for you again, this countdown will be reset, so don’t get too close. Follow these simple rules and the only downside to summoning a Warden will be the fact that you have to wait for it to despawn.

Full diamond armor?!?! Imo waiting till then is pointless because the warden is strong enough to kill you extremely quickly even in enchanted diamond armor. If anything i find it best to search and explore when you have iron armor because at that stage the loot from it will boost you further AND no hostile mobs other than the warden can spawn in it anyways. I really wish people didn't hype up the danger of it so much because as long as you aren't just mindlessly running around it is easy to explore unharmed. I can see it being difficult for a new player or someone who doesn't know how the place works, but as long as you know how it works the place just isn't difficult. It isn't some crazy end game thing when you can do it in iron armor with little effort imo.

Yeah i went down there.. its fucking FULL of mobs!! I kept getting attacked by creepers & zombies & summoning the warden!

You mentioned that you shouldn't go to ancient city until you have diamond armor. I would respectfully disagree. It's fine, and probably a better idea, to wait until you have more endgame equipment like elytra, potions, etc. But I would definitely NOT wear my best armor (no netherite) while exploring the ancient city. If the warden kills you, all your possessions are immediately destroyed. Quality of armor, tools, weapons is irrelevant. I would suggest getting some basic enchants on iron armor and wearing that. There doesn't seem to be many other mobs in the ancient city, so your only worry is the warden. And he doesn't care how nice your gear is.

My luck was horrible I accidentally fell in an ancient City when they first added it in the game I got my ass utterly stomped into the earth I only had iron armor it was brutal!!
