I’m very glad that the killer got the appropriate punishment allowed under Wisconsin law.

Darrell Brooks chose violence against women from the age of 19. He chose to gain his power by taking it from others, from those that weren't as strong as he was physically. In the end he chose to run over the elderly and children in a fit of rage. He is right where he belongs. May the community heal and stand strong together.

Very happy Darrell Brooks was sentenced before this memorial. I hope his sentence brings some peace to the community, and they continue to support each other as they all heal.

Thankfully you got to see justice being served before the heartbreaking anniversary of this tragedy. I wish healing to all of you and particularly those who suffered loss of a loved one and or injuries to friends and family.

Mental illness did not cause this journey though darkness for this community but people have psychological injury. The human spirit is strong and each time humanity is put to test they rise up. I struggle with mental illness and share my experience with you. Do not rule out changing your diet to an anti inflammatory diet because inflammation often is the root of pain. I changed my diet when I had surgery and I healed more quickly and needed few pain killers. (I had hip replacement). I wish you speedy healing and growth to make your community even better.

Just remember kids, no one truly dies, just their meat cars. Life is just a school where we are all sent to learn right from wrong and good from bad according to our creator. Scripture states "Mourn 3 days then get on with yourself."

Yet not even the judge understands how far behind the mental health system is , or the evaluation process to be determined competent . If he was properly evaluated PRIOR to this, he would of been in a mental hospital , for actual help, if in fact the help was really help in those mental hospitals, and not released into the community. Those who think jail fixes people will keep complaining when people like him are released to cause a tragic situation. Someone in the courts , and mental health system, should of recognized that he wasn’t safe. Many families contact and make complaints to the head of mental health departments, PRIOR to something like this happening. It’s not like there wasn’t pleas for help for people before these things happen. Yet they let the broken , corrupt, tax dollar wasting mental health system get away with it , and hope people get a lengthy jail sentence when they snap.

We need to have better car laws so this doesn’t keep happening again.
