The 2000s (and 90s) was probably the BEST time to be a kid!

When I got a Nintendo 64 in I believe 97' it was the best Christmas ever in my life. I was born when the first Nintendo came out. The amount of simple fun my friends and I had playing Golden eye 007, Zelda, pilot wings, Diddy Kong racing ect. I Kno this is game cube but wow what an an era kids of this generation have no idea of. It's too easy now days for the dopamine dump of direct access to every movie and game on your couch. Friday's were so much fun getting ready to go out the door to hit up the pizza joint and block buster. The social interaction picking out a film is unparalleled to nowadays. Nostalgia

Such a great game. Jetski racing games seem to have fallen out of favor, but I'd love another one in this era. If the water and waves reacted this well in 2001, imagine how much better they'd be now at 1080p 60 frames with HD rumble. Wave Race and Jet Moto need to be revived.

@@rexlr695 A new Wave Race game would be on the Switch. Unfortunately, we would have to keep our expectations low since the hardware is weak.

In the meantime, I recommend "Riptide GP: Renegade", a pretty solid spiritual successor to Wave Race you can get on the Switch.

I rented this game from Blockbuster, one of the best and most addictive games I ever had the pleasure to play on gamecube, surprisingly shocked me because I wasnt a fan of the n64 one, but I was obsessed with playing this one in order to unlock the Dolphin, which I finally did and was amazing to ride!!

They really should have kept the same art and music direction as Wave Race 64 IMO. That was a huge part of the appeal of the series.

Imagine a new entry into the series on Switch, in HD, with online etc. Would be so good. Nintendo won't do it though. Same as F-Zero etc.

I loved Nintendo when they wanted and built powerful consoles, GameCube was way more powerful than ps2 and Xbox , I mean look at those water effects and geometry better than most games today, imagine Mario or Zelda if Nintendo Built machines at least as powerful as the ps4 or ps5

I'm sorry I'm admiring the little details like the water physics like I don't think any other console like ps 2 and Xbox graphics and physics was this good GameCube had the best looking games in my opinion PS2 and Xbox has a lot of fun great games as well just I look at games like this and especially the Metroid prime games on GameCube and even original Luigi's Mansion looks amazing I'm like these games were really on the GameCube wow.
@rexlr695 Жыл бұрын
GameGube was in the middle of processing power. Faster than the PS2, but significantly behind the X-Box. There is no way the GameCube would have ran Halo, for example. The original X-Box was using a modified GeForce 3 from extremely high-end gaming PCs at the time.
@MadSociety-uy6zg Жыл бұрын
@@rexlr695 So what GameCube games still looks amazing to this day hell a lot of GameCube games looks better than og Xbox games like Metroid Prime 1 and 2 look almost like a modern game they look that good Nintendo use to know how to use their consoles passed their limits really well.

This actually seems like almost a downgrade vs the N64 version of waverace. Maybe its my nostalgia speaking, but N64 waverace almost seems like a simulator compared to this arcade feel.

I don't know where you got those dates, but they're definitely not right. The GameCube came out in 2001, not 2000, and in the US it launched in November with Wave Race as a launch title.
