I have around 3500 data points that create a wave. My task is to detect the maximum range of the wavelenght, so basically the largest distance from the crest to the trough and since my wave is pretty irregular I was wondering if there is a method to calculate and detect it. Take into account that between the crest and the trough there are also points (values) that I would of course exclude since they are not my crest nor my trough point.

The crest should be at the top where the 5 is because the crest is the highest point the medium rises to and the trough should be at -5 because that is the lowest point the medium drops to so you made a small error there at 0:50 in the video but otherwise you provided a good explanation! 👍😀

13:30 you can also count the number of oscillations (cycles) divided by the time . Like there is 1¾ cycles in the wave to 14 seconds.what about one cycles 1¾->14s 1 1x14 ÷7/4 14×4 =56 56÷7 = 8

question) I have 2 questions= (1)question(Is there any different in the math between light and sound and magnetic wave?) I have been able to do a standing wave at the precise frequency resonations of each element of the periodic table of elements that separates them into base particles. I took the math from the light emission spectrum for each element at this site ( chemistry.bd.psu.edu/jircitano/periodic4.html ) then I used windows picture editor to measure out each light spectrum it came out in non-meters per-second for each one of the light emissions. I am playing it out of speaker and able to break the junk I recycle down to base particles and then bring it back to me at the same time with the standing sound wave. Then to find the note, key, and frequency I took a guitar note guide for music and matched them up with the periodic table of elements. (2)question(Is that where they came up with the math for the periodic chart for the elements and can that help find the missing elements?) sorry if I am wasting your time on such a simple questions. I never went to college for this and thanks for any help in understanding this more?
