This video explains the detailed procedure for determination of H alpha line of Hydrogen spectrum. The same principle can be extended to determine wavelength of other lines of the spectrum.

How do we know that the grating has 15000 lines per inch 😭???? Please explain. I got 89.9 as the final angle of diffraction and after putting it in the wavelength formula and using the grating constant 1.6933 something, I got 1.something cm which is so far from the theoretical value of h alpha. Please help
