everything i have been doing in the game for the past few years has sort of been in preparation for this level. i asked to verify it when my hardest was ARCTIC LIGHTS and i received it in early 2022. i dont plan on doing any other levels other than ascension to heaven when i do start verifying it (when deco is complete). im hoping to beat tidal wave to at least prove to some people that its possible for me to verify a level of such magnitude. and i promise i wont just drag the verifier role while not playing it, it will be my full focus when the time does come. I hope the level does receive a mythic rating but the lack of 2.2 features used in the level could contribute to it NOT receiving that. good video though

6:30 honestly? Amethyst. Quite a unique and not particularly seen before theme, the deco is amazing and fucking atmospheric (imo) and the song complements it even more. The gameplay might hold it back because it’s a remake of the golden so it loses originality points in that department, but everything else points towards it being good enough I would assume

One thing about it is Robtop doesn't like rating top 1's, let alone mythic so it may not get rated for a while. Espially since tidal wave wasn't rated for a long time. and was only featured.

The worst thing about this whole situation is RobTop hates top play, and even though a level could look incredible, he will only give it a feature purely because it's top 1. Also, looking at other mythic levels, all upcoming top levels other than *maybe* Ascension to Heaven will get an epic rate at most. I think Ascension to Heaven would only get legendary at most considering And Ever looks about the same

Meanwhile Wavix not even thinking about the posibillity that a level harder than AtH could be verified first so when AtH gets mythic it doesn't get top 1.

xi is pronounced “sai” fyi lol As for my opinion: I do think the level is mythic worthy and the level will become the first top 1 to be mythic. However as much as there are many things I absolutely love about the level, I just can’t say that I personally love the level as a whole because I disagree with the way it represents the song, but I feel like this has a lot to do with the fact that I just had a very different vision of the level when I saw the original layout. I was familiar with the song originating from BMS and the background animation that was created alongside the original song and that installed a vision of the song as a more abstract portrayal of the journey to paradise as being an emotional journey of faith and uncertainty towards judgement and the afterlife that follows death. This is just the way I viewed the song and because of this I imagined the level having a much more gradual progression that reflected both the ‘ascension’ as well as the shift from uncertainty to hope and acceptance. I also just personally imagined the level having a wider color palette especially towards the end and overall I just had a much more cosmic or abstract vision of heaven. This is why I am just a little tiny bit disappointed that the level took what I would describe as dare I say a more “typical” or “literal” portrayal of heaven, where I would have liked if there was more abstraction or creativity expressed. But hey the level as a whole is not typical at all and it’s not like I can do any better and it’s already better than 99% of levels so I’m generally happy with the level as a whole aside from my personal disagreement with the theming. It’s just I care about this song so much and since this will likely be the level that a lot of people will associate this song with this level, I really want this level to get it right, especially since I care about this level a lot. The quality of the decoration however is absolutely stunning, though I would’ve liked to have seen a little more creativity in terms of making ‘each part have it’s own charm’, however these really are just nitpicks from a level that I believe is already Mythic worthy.

6:30 my first thoughts were Silent Acropolis and Kocmoc Unleashed. But to be fair with everything you talked about there’s odds that they won’t get mythic at all. Gameplay wise both levels are probably dogshit, but deco is a whole different story. Silent Acropolis is one of the most unique levels I’ve seen in a long time, but its gameplay and lack of 2.2 features kinda put it out of contention. Kocmoc Unleashed is one of the best levels I’ve seen that accomplishes such an atmosphere and theme, and the use of 2.2 features is way higher than Silent Acropolis. But the only thing that might take it off the list for competition is the fact it uses a nong and its gameplay. Wavix when you see this I’d like to hear your thoughts on Silent Acropolis specifically but also Kocmoc because you only mentioned it briefly in the video.

My complaint with the decoration: Some parts feel too much like "nature" themed rather than heaven themed. I don't like the parts where its just mountains in the background it breaks the immersion..

I mean the biggest reason why it wouldn't be the first mythic top one, would be if it's never top one at all. If for example it's easier than Grief (from what we've seen, a distinct possibility), then it has virtually no chance.

with ascension to heaven, i think that the block design in some parts isn't smooth, like the other mythic levels. I also think there should be a lot of moving objects for a mythic level.

if acension to heaven gets a mythic rating, then silent acropilis probably would too because its got astonishing deco too.

I had some convos about Uriuns "new" part with some top art creators and some ath members and we came to the conclusion that its good for the time it was made (2.5ya) but nowdays it would be the worst part in the level by far so we can predict a replacement to happen there.

i find it really interesting that most of the top 1s or hard levels are hell themed, and this levels just gets this idea and slaps it out to the other side

I think that the real problem would be if it is even top 1 when verified, because by the time it is finished and verified grief and/or flamewall will probably be already verified (flamewall verifier said that he is buffing the level a lot so it could potentially be harder than grief, and doggie is buffing it like every 5 minutes lmao) so the problem would be that difficulty fot it imo

Honestly, I think that Ascension to Heaven should probably be reasonably nerfed to not be top 1 for the sake of being top 1. RobTop has already stated how he does not really like overly difficult levels and the "Top 1 Culture" of the game. I think that the decorations and artistic aspect of the level should be the predominant focus with the gameplay being built to be fun rather so that there is an increase in accessibility. Additionally, I think that if the level were to be nerfed, it would have a greater chance at receiving a Mythic rating as the gameplay would be more serviceable to more players. I would like to get some opinions on this: Should Ascension to Heaven be nerfed for greater accessibility?

there is the plunge by dola, that might get mythic but its estimated to be top 5. however, there is also XYUTI, which is estimated to be a top 1 and has really good decoration. it is very unique deco, but probably mythic worthy.

Not only will it be the first mythic top one, but it will be the first extreme mythic aswell, along with being the second classic mythic level

there might be chances where it wont get mythic since robtop seems to dislike top levels. and honestly situations like these are the main reason i think the addition of legendary and mythic rating is a bad thing, all it does is spark controversies

Wavix, I have a thought experiment/ video idea. What if robtop went and changed the ratings of pre-2.2 levels when 2.2 released (as an example, LIMBO being changed from epic to legendary) and what levels would have their rating changed. another way I could see this go is that the featured, epic, legendary, or mythic ratings are in the base game from 1.0 or some time early in the games life, meaning that level’s ratings are based on the time in which they came out, (an example being death moon, while not being particularly outstanding today, was one of the most beautiful levels in 1.9 and possibly would have gotten mythic) make this into a video or I’m unsubscribing and moving to Liechtenstein

I was so confused when I looked in the music library, the song is there but it's only 2 minutes and 46 seconds long. I assume it's all there but slightly modified so some parts are looped. Don't get me wrong, I adore this level and the decoration is stunning, I just don't know why they made it 5 minutes long when the song is clearly much shorter, other than to set it apart from other top 1s (which it already has done by the deco, gameplay and theming) Also if this is fun to play, only a handful of players will know. We'll have to hope RobTop trusts their opinions because it's not like he can play it and judge how good the gameplay is. I think it will at least get a Legendary rating, but that's a controversy for another day

I still think that the planning of the deco wasn't done right. I believe that the song doesn't fit the way the deco goes throughout the level. the slow parts and super intense parts are decorated in the same theme. especially in a game like geometry dash where so much creativity could be put into the slower parts, I'm surprised they took the "one theme fits all" approach.

The only thing that I can complain about ascension to heaven's deco is that its so detailed that it would kinda look messy at high speeds as if you dont understand whats going on on the screen

i personally don’t like the “realistic nature” type of decoration, (think and ever), and that doesn’t change for this level. I can acknowledge that it looks good, but i hate playing through that decoration as i find it hard to play through (not like i’m good enough to play this anyways).
