A wonderful spring day camping in a little forest with The North Face Wawona 4 tent, sunshine, strong wind, and a handful of thunderstorm showers. A good test on the tent and it hold up pretty well. Nice and big ribeye steak as well. Also, welcome to laugh at my first and messy show of the Ecoflow Delta Max power station, it was an epic fail...XD. OK, hope you'll enjoy it, and thank you all very much for your support, thumb up, subscription, and following up! Feel free to leave a comment below if you find my video interesting and perhaps suggest an idea or two for me to try in my future episodes. Cheers, my friend, and I'll catch you up in the next one.

There seems to a lot of natural “pegging” all around your campsite that you can take advantage of with a small saw or hatchet, and a knife, I like your video.

Thanks for your comment, Kristin, hope you've enjoyed a nice camping weekend already, and if possible, please keep an eye out for my new upcoming episode (later today) where I also used the Wawona 4 for a great rain camping.

Wow! What an eventful camping episode. I'm really pleased to see the wawona 4 in action in high winds and rain!! Gives me a lot of reassurance. I LOVE Rirang OnAir , she's awesome and AB Camping with Tony and Brucie!!! I was devastated when Bruce died a few days ago 😭but he lived a good life. loved your vid. I was reading bout what to do in high winds when camping, like taking off your fly and opening the vents are one way to go about it. Was glad to see you doing that as well. Wondering where you got you power bank? Well, can't wait to see your next vid.

Thanks for your kind comment, Trinibug! Yeah, I recalled your previous comment so I tried the Wawona 4 when I heard that there will be a windy day. I checked the tent again when I was back and no damage was made at all, which really surprised me. Great to know you love Rirang and AB Camping too, but I was really shocked when I heard Dear Brucie has passed away, it was right after I came back from this camping trip, and it is really devastating! I will mention it and express my condolence to Tony in my next video. As I said in my Twitter comment for Tony, Bruce will be remembered! Lastly, sorry that I didn't say that clearly about the power bank, I got it from EcoFlow, and the one I bought was EcoFlow Delta Max, which has 2,000 kWh (kilowatt hour) total power after each full recharge. It also comes with a solar panel for recharging, which I'll definitely give it a try in my future videos.

@@clsemper Yeah, power bank(s) that can provide several kw.h power will definitely help with all essential needs when you're doing car camping, and solar panels for recharging will further assist your multi-day adventures. Well, I'll see if I can do some quick demo (and test) on the solar panel in my future videos. One thing would be needed is good sunshine condition.

Hello Trinibug, hope all is well with you recently. Well, you might have noticed that I haven't mentioned Tony and Bruce in my recent videos yet, apologies that I didn't keep my promise but I have my own reasons, mainly for that I don't feel quite comfortable to consume other KZfaqr's suffering to increase my views and subscribers, and to talk about it while he was still in pain made me a bit hesitate as well. Well, yesterday he just uploaded the new video camping with Bruno, and seems like he's walking out of it, slowly, so let's give him a bit more time, and I think you would agree with me. Anyway, cheers, and have a nice weekend.

I really enjoyed the camping trip. The wind was insane. You came up in my recommendations probably because I follow AB Camping and Steve. Steve is a great guy. I do enjoy Tony's cigar time. Both have great channels. I just cannot get into the ASMR videos. I almost feel like a voyeur where videos like yours, AB and Steve, I feel as though I am invited along and really enjoy the visit and small talk. I am presently tossed between buying the Wawona 6 (love the two door vestibule) or the REI Base Camp 6. Both seem to be great tents. Tony has done a few videos with the Winona 6 and raves about it. Anyway....I subbed and look forward to checking out more of your videos. BTW..... did not have a lot of places staked out or guylines? Just wondering for my own references. Thanks for taking me along.

Hello my friend, thank you for your recent comments for my videos, really appreciate all my kind and patient viewers like you. Speaking about Tony and Steve, I'm super excited to see their meeting with each other recently as shown in Tony's Canada trip, but I was very upset as well when I heard that our beloved Crazy Neighbor (Glenn) has passed away. He is really a good man, and he will be remembered... Well, you're very much welcomed to come back to my little channel and leave a comment or two. I've been too busy recent months and haven't got time to upload new videos, but with the love and care from you all, I'll for sure continue my trips and videos. I have never purchased and used REI tent yet but I have found an interesting video for you to take a look, it is right about a nice comparison between these two tents (kzfaq.info/get/bejne/pbd1ZaWm2L-Wnok.html), enjoy, and in general, I think Wawona 6 is better for tall guys, who wants a large vestibule room, rainy/windy days, and not-too-cold weather, oh, and yes, it does has sufficient amount of points for guylines, don't you worry about that.

@@aspikeofserenity Thank you for your replies. Yes, Crazy Neighbor was a huge loss to Steve and to all of us who enjoy the great outdoors and Steve's unique content. I watched his latest "movie" of all of Crazy Neighbors appearances and shenanigans. Very moving video and a great tribute to him by Steve. Well, you inspired me, at age 75, almost 76, to get back into camping. I found and snagged a Wawona 8 for $480 at Moosejaw. I couldn't pass up such a great deal. I went for the big tent so I can take my grandchildren camping. I have 13 grands and 4 great grand. My 13 year old grandson and I took it on a shakedown trip this past weekend, spending 2 nights and 3 days at one of my favorite old disbursed campsights. We had a ball. The set up was a bit more than I anticipated.....taking me about 30 min. However, now that I better understand the setup, I should be able to do it in 20 min or so. It is a great tent. The only change I would recommend to North Face is to put stake-out points in the middle, at the door.. There are plenty of hanging points in the tent as well as storage. I hope to get 3+ seasons out of it. Fall camping during squirrel season used to be one of my favorite times to camp but it can get cold. I picked up a Maxspeedingrods 5k diesel heater that should keep the tent quite warm. I was really impressed with this heater and they have gotten so cheap. I picked it up for almost 1/2 the cost of a Heater Buddy. Please keep making videos Roger. They are very relaxing to watch and also inspiring for us all to get outside and enjoy the outdoors with all of its wonders. BTW, here in Louisiana we have wild horses that roam the National Forest in small herds. While camping this weekend we had five come within 50 yds of our camp and grazed for a half hour or so. My grandson was in awe. We were gifted and would not have been able to accept it had we stayed home. Again, thank you and thank you for responding and sorry for the screed. 😁

Yeah, I've watched Crazy Neighbor's Movie for about 2 or 3 times, pure joy from this gentleman, he was really a great treasure in Steve's videos, and he will definitely be remembered. Plus, there were several times that his talent shocked me, such as the treehouse he single-handedly built, as well as his immensely calm (and humor) discussion with Steve about their shoelace running loose... I'm feeling extremely humbled if my non-state-of-the-art videos or random chats here "inspired" anything for you, but I do feel happy for you to be brave enough to get back to camping at your age. That deserve a big "Bravo~" $480 for Wawona 8 was really a nice deal, and I admire you to be able to handle such a not quite small tent within 30 min! But most importantly, it is lovely to know that you've enjoyed 2 nights and 3 days with your 13-old grandson at one of your favorite spots. I'm sure this tent will give you at least a nice 3-season shelter coverage, but please be careful when you have strong wind, my Wawona 4 didn't handle it very well. I've never tried a diesel heater before, Mr. Buddy Heater works fine, but I bet I can try something different when I'm passing my 50 or 60 :) I'm trying to come back to the wild and shoot new videos on different scales now, of course I still need to work hard for my routine job, meanwhile, I've upgraded many of my hiking and camping gears in the past months, and I'd love to use or demonstrate a bit in my future videos. Great to know that you guys have wild horses in National Forest down there, hope one day I can be camping there and experience it. Well, be honest with you I was in New Orleans during the Mardi Gras for a conference. I do enjoy the humidity and warm weather there, and I am from Missouri:)
@WayneTheSeine
@WayneTheSeine 3 ай бұрын
@@aspikeofserenity Ha ha.....the humidity can be a killer though. I am in central Louisiana so it is not quite as bad as being right next to the Gulf. If you ever get down this way give me a shout. If nothing else, I can turn you on to some great food and maybe a tour of the local forests. As for the diesel heater, I am blown away by how efficient it is and the amount of heat it is capable of putting out. There is the added advantage that it does not produce water like propane does. I always found it almost magical that 1# of propane produces 1.6#'s of water. Considering that 1# bottles now run between $5-6 and are only good for about 4 hours, compared to 1.3 gallons of diesel lasting over 30 hours, makes it a no brainer. Take care my friend and hope to see your new gear soon.

What was the brand/model of that rechargeable fan? .. I’ve been looking for a good camping fan that can stand up to high wind.

Mine is from Stansport, lamp and fan together with a foldable hook on top, however, it is not rechargeable (using two batteries). You can also find similar designed camp fan (or lamp) on Amazon, I've seen another brand called Odoland which has pretty much the same design.

Hi, do you know if the entrance over hand you did at 35min of the vid works on the wawona 8person tent?

Hi my friend, thanks for asking. I didn't use Wawona 8 before, but after checking some related videos, I noticed that Wawona tent has a similar vestibule door at the front side. So I'm pretty sure that it can do the same over hang as I did in this video. Cheers~!

Camping in a white dress shirt??
@aspikeofserenity
@aspikeofserenity 4 ай бұрын
Yes sir (lol), I know it was a bit weird to camp with a white shirt, but hey, here is my story: I camped the first time in an urban garden behind my office wearing a white shirt, and since then, I've been camping many many places and weather conditions with all sorts of gears and still wearing a white shirt (90%+) without any issues. Again, I know it's odd, but I wanted to show that you don't need to go camping with those outrageous expensive and fancy gears, as long as you have the right tools, everyone can go camping even wearing their office shirt ... I used to play a lot of soccer at my younger years, one funny observation during a normal pick up game was that whenever a player wearing shinny professional gears, I'm 90% sure that he's a newbie (actually nearly 100% sure) :)
