The Rubicon has a reputation for being one of the most iconic Jeep trails in the world and for a reason - It’s crazy beautiful and of course, it has some of the most challenging and non stop rock crawling fun that you can find anywhere. Nice video. Great to see people taking challenging lines to better/improve the driver skill level up to the limit of the equipment. Building the driver and spotter relationship and improving each others skill level to the limit of the equipment is entertaining. When your skill level is limited by the equipment, then it is time to improve/modify the rig to allow additional driver/spotter skill level to try more challenging trails or lines. Nice job to the group and great videos. Thanks for sharing.

Every Jeep looks like they followed the Project-JK template for their build. Quarter pounder, rockskin corners & side armor, weld on sliders, double throwdown, cantilever rear suspension, Spyderlock/ATX beadlocks, Dynatrac axles, Rockhard Sport cage & trademark modified factory flares.

The 2-door was a Sport with a manual transmission running Dana 44 front and rear axles with 3" of lift and 35" tires.

What is the steering setup on the white jku with way of life on side, big bull bar infront. Is everything mounted to the top position on the passenger knuckle with psc assist?

You're looking at an EVO high steer kit that can only be run on an old Dynatrac ProRock 60. It cannot be used on the newer XD60

Sure, there are plenty of other vehicles that run this trail but they do need to be highly modified.

This was a few years back. We've run the Rubicon in our Gladiator but never made a video of it. Maybe someday. We miss Tessa dearly too.

Great stuff! We are preparing to drive to S.E.Utah from Tennessee. Do you have any experience with using seat cushions or ??? For 12+ hour days on interstates? Any recommendations? It may seem like the opposite of this video - but - we gotta out there first!

Great video and I have a question. What is the name of the very rocky descent at the 17 minute mark? I have only ran the trail once but we are going back soon and I don’t want to miss it. I think the JJ run skipped this my first time. Thanks!

That is the Old Sluice or True Sluice. It's a part of the original route but challenging enough that most people bypass it. Of our group, only 3 attempted it.

Aside from tow points front and rear, a tow strap and friends that can help you out. That is minimum.

Me personally, I would say 2" of lift and at least 33" tires. Go with friends who can help out, plan to stack a few rocks and get tugged once or twice and that's all you need.

Pretty much all of these Jeeps are fully kitted out with Evo stuff. Just looks like a big group of people sponsored by Evo lol not that that’s a bad thing. I do like their stuff. I’ve got their bumpers front and rear and would love to have the double throwdown one day, although I’ll never afford it!

July through August is when most people go. You can sometimes get going in June but only if the snow pack is on the low side.

The one silver Jeep with blue wheels didn't have much trouble on anything and if anything, the sticky tires it has made things easier. Some of the other Jeeps were running smaller tires but a lot of what you're seeing is differences in driver experience.
