It's 2024, 22 years since he's been gone, people are still listening to his music, watching videos about him, interested in details of his life and talking about his contributions to the world of music. I'd say those are some pretty legendary achievements. I'm sure that would be something that would make him proud. Imagine being gifted with that sort of talent. What a great life he lived doing what he was born to do. ❤=w=❤

I got to see Waylon perform at Lollapalooza '95. He was sandwiched between the bands Rancid and The Ramones, playing for a crowd of alt-rock twenty-somethings. Waylon's first song went ok with the crowd, then he did "Always Been Crazy", crowd warmed up a little more. Then he did "Good Ol' Boys", and the crowd went bananas. Crowdsurfing, you name it. Waylon said to the crowd at the end of his set, "I hope ya'll enjoyed yourselves, I don't know if ya'll know what to make of me, but I thank you for listening just the same." What a legend.

I lost a lot of respect for Metallica when I learned they were the sole reason free access music went away.... I gained more than I had before when I learned they were the sole reason Waylon was at Lollapalooza 95.

At the time I posted this I had not started getting into restoring the audio aspect of the videos on my channel. I just posted them exactly as they were in my collection. However, in the past year I've been correcting audio levels. I sure wish that KZfaq would allow us to upload a file to replace the original once we have posted it, but I don't see any way around just having to post it again when I correct the audio level. If I do that then I will put the new url in the description of this video.

You know, I took Waylon's passing harder than Cash's. That kinda let me know how much his music meant to me growing up. I can hear a song like Amanda or Mamas Don't Let Your Babies Grow Up To Be Cowboys and be transported to a rodeo my dad would be roping at when I was just a short little fart. The sounds and smells all come back in an instant. That's powerful medicine.

When Waylon renegotiated with Neil Rechen, His autobiography tells a different story about when their in the office waiting for the first one to talk. It says that they were all quiet when Waylon gets up and walks out. Jerry or Chet asked where Waylon was going and Neil said,. "Waylon's mad. No telling what he might do. I guess it's over." And that's when RCA caved. Neil asked Waylon where he went. Waylon said I had to have a piss, and Neil said, "well, that was a 25,000$ piss! Lol. Now, my question to you is: who's telling the truth? They played all of each other's hits. The biggest hit as a group was probably Highwayman which is a cool song about reincarnation that has 4 verses so they each take a verse. There aren't any songs written by all 4 of them but Kris and Willie along have written enough songs for a lifetime of concerts. Johnny has written 1500 songs and recorded about 600 of them.

Frustrating because CMT & other legacy channels either don’t exist or worse are insane zombies of the simple common sense initials these channels used to represent & the always fascinating artists they presented, was excited to watch something that used to respect viewers 1000% more than any of the sell out cable channels now. I wish ppl would boycott these sewer rat channels along w/ MTV & the like, wild no one seems reminiscent about the older interesting programming. MTV, is nit MUSIC tv it’s Moron tv, wild, they don’t have ANYTHING that concerns the topic, like anything that resembles music.
