Waylon was the best at whipping out a simple yet complicated and truly unique solo or riff on his mythic telecaster and give no sign of effort doing it. True humility and competence. He knew exactly what he could do and didn’t feel the need to prove anything other than that music is free and should be treated as such. Both of these legends have helped me through many rough years to this day and continue to inspire.

I spent over 30 years driving "coast to coast" and every now again I would happen to catch the Old Flying W slipping through the darkness headed for another show somewhere and I would start digging the through my box of tapes and cds looking for Waylon or Johnny cash album to keep me going another couple hundred miles.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, "The two John Wayne's of country music."

They're both legends but there ain't no body better than Waylon Jennings. R.I.P. Waylon and Johnny, we miss you both.
