Slightly ironic. W.B. is giving a class on projecting one's sound and the audio barely gets his voice audible.

Dude they aren't wrong. YOu consider that most trumpet stop giving feedback after A above high C, so you have provide your own resistance i.e. buzz. Doc, Maynard, Arturo, etc. All buzz, you just have to do it right. Check out pops trumpet college, he's extremely knowledgeable and well respected amongst professional players.

What a great opportunity missed due to the terrible audio capture. Being partially deaf made it impossible to benefit. Thought for the next master session I would suggest a good wireless microphone attached to the collar. Can communicate with the class while capturing intelligible audio.

victor gamez chances are you were either playin too much above your comfortable zone or maybe you weren’t relaxed enough
@iangraham-white57176 жыл бұрын
You were probably experiencing a problem called backpressure. It happens fron trying to push to much air all at one time into the horn. Believe it or not more air is not the key to the upper register the key is faster air. Try going from the lower register to the upper register crescendoing as you reach the top (the crescendo will aid in helping you feel where the trumpet slots)
@medicineman12026 жыл бұрын
Thanks guys for the response. I currently switched over to violin, but maybe one day, I'll take on the trumpet again

honest no bullshit answer, you will always tense your body, but try to focus on not pushing your head AS HARD forward, and air flows through the neck, your neck doesnt push air.

@@freyafreyatThe original creator of super chops was Jerome Callet, a great trumpet player and manufacturer. Many high note players use this method or variations of it. In fact, the bunching of the lips is part of the method.

Complete waste of time - let's have a trumpet class and make the trumpet so loud you have to turn the sound down, then make the speaking so soft you have to turn the volume all the way up, then let's switch back and forth for 15 minutes to try to make sense of the muffled voice and blaring trumpet - makes for a pleasant 15 minutes.
