Something to remember in MSFS - you have to select "LEGACY" in the Accessibilty section in Gen Options so the mouse will allow you to Push and Pull the knobs. I also did not realize that you could use Auto Throttle and still change the Speed manually. Pretty cool, I see that in the Vision Jet also. Way down below the throttle . . .

Great video! Just a question about the FPA mode: does it control the nose attitude or the flight path angle? The attitude indicator matched the degrees that you programmed on the FCU, but that might not match the flight path angle, right? If you change config with flaps, or if you have a headwind, the AI degrees won't match the flight path angle, correct?
@waypointsaviation
@waypointsaviation 9 ай бұрын
Hi and thanks for your comment! The FPA doesn't really control anything but is more like an indication as to what the aircraft is doing or the actual flight path angle that the aircraft is flying in relation to its angle of attack. Generally in clean configuration flying straight and level the aircraft would have a nose up angle of about 2 1/2 to 5° and yes you're correct if you lower the speed or deploy flaps then this angle will change. The purpose of the FPA (Bird) is to help the pilot determine regardless of what the angle of attack isis to help the pilot determine regardless of what the angle of attack, is the aircraft is the aircraft flying straight and level or are we climbing or descending that's pretty much what the FPA does for us hope this answers your question full free to let us know if you need any more clarification.

Amazing tutorial!! Thank you very much for putting the time and effort to convey to us aviation enthusiasts all this information. One question: As you were manually changing the Flight Path Angle from the FCU, the plane's pitch angle was also changing to the corresponding value as shown with the "bird" on the PFD. Is this always the case? (FPA = A/C Pitch Angle)? Because I have seen planes descending with the correct FPA but with their nose pitched way up to be able to maintain it (the FPA), especially on low approach speeds
@waypointsaviation
@waypointsaviation 9 ай бұрын
Hello, thanks for your comment! To answer your question keep in mind that we have two factors one is angle of attack the other is flight path angle. The angle of attack is the angle at which the aircraft must fly to maintain, straight & level flight Or the angle that it must maintain to climb and descend at whatever rate you choose, the flight path angle is the true angle at which the aircraft is flying. For example, if the flight path angle is zero with flaps up and flying at the speed of approximately 200 kn. You can expect the angle of attack to be around 2.5 to 3° nose up. When you slow the aircraft down and deploy the flaps, the aircraft will naturally fly at a raised angle of attack, which is why you always see aircraft coming into land with a nose up angle. This is just how the aerodynamics work. Hope this answers your question Let us know if you need any further information.

Hello, thanks for this wonderful tutorial, although I knew most of it already :) One question though: I fly the A320neo as well (in FS2020) 😂 and sometimes (or always?) on an approach small two digit green numbers appear on the left side of the altitude scale .. like 32 and either slowly counting up or down. What are these numbers for? Thanks for your help!
@waypointsaviation
@waypointsaviation 5 ай бұрын
Hello, I believe you're referring to your vertical speed indicator, double digits (32) are in thousands so 32 would be 3200 feet per minute and single digits are hundreds. Best touch down rate would be less than 300 feet per minute. Hope this helps, thanks for watching!

Makes sense to me, agree? Another quick question, I assume you are a real-life A320 pilot, could you check whether there is an indication during flight whether the parking brake is engaged or not? I landed with parking brake on but I didn't see any message. Thanks.

Another refresher - thanks! Question - at 23.20 in the vid, you put in the fmc 5000 altitude. That is visible in the screen (in blue). The constraint is hower 8,000 - I would expect that 8000 in purple in your fmc - any idea why it showed your selected altitude in blue rather then the constrained altitude of 8000? After a while i saw it changed in 8000 purple though :). It’s probably a delay in the system
@waypointsaviation
@waypointsaviation Жыл бұрын
You my friend are definitely Eagle Eyed! So what happened was there was a momentary error in our MSFS FMGS program and it didnt take into account the constraints... however once we reloaded the programaround the 24:00 period it worked this time, and even though I selected 2000 on the FCU it knew the constraint existed @ 8000 and gave us alt magenta on the FMA and followed the constraints as it should. This is a problem one has to deal with sometimes when working with MSFS coupled to an advanced FNPT Simulator, sometimes the software has a hiccup! But it all worked well in the end! :)

How to select the roll angle of the plane when turning. There is another knob behind the heading knob in Boeing to select your roll angle. But I couldn't find out how to do that on the Airbus
@waypointsaviation
@waypointsaviation 8 ай бұрын
Airbus doesn’t have a knob neither does it have an option to adjust the angle of bank. Then you push fully on the side-stick, the aircraft will role until it reaches a maximum of 67 degrees of bank (if you keep pushing the stick) once you release the stick the ac will automatically role back to 33 degrees and stay there until you push the stick the other way to level the wings

In other parts of the world other than the USA flight levels can be as low as 4000 and it Chages every day. So when he Said he is at FL130 he is correct.

"There's no mystical method; every pilot and company concur on a singular approach: to dispel any uncertainty and ensure there's always someone actively piloting the aircraft. This is achieved by declaring 'I have control' or granting control with 'you have control,' straightforward and resolute."

I’m running in a problem that I do not understand, I’m in selected mode auto thrust and autopilot, speed is set to 220 and it will go over speed on both while I’m climbing and I cannot get the speed down. I try on A330 from Laminar and on A319 from Toliss, same problem. Do not know what I’m doing wrong😮Please help.

Hello, There could be a number of reasons for this… you can check the following… 1) are the flaps still out? At speeds of 220 you must be flaps 0 2) are the thrust levers in the CL detect? Cause if they’re still in toga or flx/mct then no matter what you choose in selected it will still be pushing max power Check this and let us know if this works, anything else we can do to help let us know :)

@@waypointsaviation you were right, that was my problem, I have read that auto thrust was not going over the point where it was setup, but I miss read about toga, thanks again

HERE'S THE PROBLEM with your videos! It makes my company's pilots ....very confused! WHY?!? I'm a line tech AND BECAUSE I study constantly about my company's aircraft...and in this case the Airbus...when I go on a gate call...I UNDERSTAND what the flight crews are talking about AND ASK QUESTIONS. "Did it do this in managed mode" " Did it do this in FPA" (ETC) This is the 5th or 6th time I've watched THIS video because so many of the flight crews concerns are related to THIS VIDEO. THE END OF THIS STORY? I don't put in unnecessary high dollar spares! AND the flights depart on time AND the pilots think I'm a genius.
I wish I could change THIS fast! 🤣
