This packable Altoids wood stove is a new design that I came up with after a fair amount of research. It's cheap, easy to make and best of all it's very lightweight and can be carried in a pocket!

Now I know many of what I've seen so far but I still enjoy watching because you never know may see a new better way to thing's. Plus you keep it all so simple without the extra need to spend 20 minutes talking about the same thing in every intro, it's just straight to the point and I enjoy that.

I really like this design; it starts with an actual base and a box that can contain all other parts. Less material to manufacture means less work but I think the big deal here is that you have a solid base, so the walls are not prone to shifting about with the terrain. GREAT JOB! This could even be scaled up to a degree...

Yeah this idea is new to me as well. I've always made my stoves from cans but the metal is just too thin and degrades too much from the heat. Cookie sheets are stout, easy and cheap to find, and also probably deal with the heat pretty well.

Honestly this would be a good thing to keep in your car. At least for those of us in rural cold climate. You never know.... You could end up in a ditch and no one knows. Tea candles are good to keep too. It doesn't take much for you to not freeze to death. And it's cheap. Hopefully One never needs any of this and can forget about it. But what IF........ Edit.... Soooo..... And thinking about that.... I bet a tea candle or two can fit in that kit as well. Then you have good fire starter with you at all times. Super cool deal going on here!!!

I am impressed. Never occurred to make a stove this way. But i wonder how long that tin is going to last .. probably not long. As always nice work ❤

I've been building a survival/hiking kit and was kinda shocked at some of the prices for mini stoves assuming they'd be a couple bucks.. Then i went down a rabbit whole of trying to remember DIY tin-can stoves and came across this video alonge the way. I am blown away by how smart it is. It's such a clever usage of an altoid tin i'm stumped you did not patent and bank on it. Anyways i'm definitely going to DIY this as i have the same altoid container next to me.

oh i am soo gonna make one of these!! I made an altoids stove about 20 years ago and used a wire clothes hanger for the pot support but i like this idea better cause the pot support doubles as the windscreen.

@@WayPointSurvival I'd surely buy one. I don't have dremel tooling. I have a big grinder with cut off disc.Cut the perimeter shapes out but, those slice cuts that puts it all together(4 sides & altoids tin) would be pretty thick slices with grinder cut off disc. Any other ideas to make those cuts? Hack saw might with bench vise. No bench vise either. Thanks for sharing & such a cool design. 👍
