I think that Mic Cronin said EXACTLY the right things at this press conference. I am VERY PROUD that he is now the HC at my alma mater, UCLA.

My mom didn't get to go to college either. She was one of seven children my grandparents had. Despite the fact that they both worked hard to provide for them, which they did, they were lucky to even put food on the table and clothes on their back, let alone even send one of them to college. And worst of all, my grandfather unexpectedly passed away while my mom was in high school. Then my father only was able to afford ONE semester of college. So he had to go another direction job wise. So from me to whoever gets to attend college period, let alone play sports for said college that you go to, please consider yourself lucky and don't take it for granted. Thank you, good luck and best wishes.

@whodeywedey4life Isn't it though? I thought the coach for Xavier almost seemed lackadaisical about it. I think he was more concerned with how he was going to deal with the suspensions. After watching both coaches, Cronin is definitely the type of coach I'd want my kids to play for.

personally I can't blame the coach, if my team was in a brawl that would make me face having to resign I wouldn't let my players here the end of it till the last news story about the incident comes out

I understand this coach if he tried calling a time out and the refs ignored him that's on the refs and the players. Also coach is right again all these guys are there to get an education most of these guys will not play in the pros, but again it's the glorification of the sport.

@rooooooby you must not have paid attention to the fight on saturday. What you say and what you do are completely different. If Cronin did speak to his team about this the week before the players obviously have no respect for him and obviously they shouldnt. He told them not to do something and they still did it and got minimal penalties for doing so. I have the same feelings for XU students and admin, I am only commenting on Cincy because that is what this video is about.

Program with the higher standard? Lance Stephens called Chris Mack the N Word 3 times and told him F off under the coaching of Cronin. Years later Cronin tries to fight JP Macura and needs to be thrown out by security. Xavier basketball in the last decade has been miles better than UC.

I thought the Xavier coach's post-game was ridiculous, especially compared to this one. Even if your team did play well, you don't even mention that your proud of their effort after they all get involved in a brawl like that. Cronin seems to 'get it' more, that this is unacceptable.

Everybody was from UC to Xavier everyone was upset and embarrassed and rightfully so. Both of these teams played that ending really badly. The crosstown shootout is fucking stupid (in my opinion) and it should either be played neutral court or shouldn't be continued because whoever is home will win that's how it is. Cincinnati has 2 national championships and Xavier hasn't even made the final fucking four in their history so why does Xavier always act like the "big kid" when we have dominated this series since it started?
@DesertStreams00212 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't be surprised if he took a pair of scissors to cut off his players uniforms. Xavier ought to be ashamed of themselves for acting like the world revolves around them and that the fight was right.

Also, lets keep in mind...watch the footage...XU throws the first punch....yet somehow Cronin and UC dishing out 6 game suspensions to start with (meaning some will be kicked off the team) isn't good enough lol. Aw, you people

...Kentucky fans are in no position to criticize anybody. Your coach is a known cheat, has seen recruiting classes that he obviously paid for and your program already had a death penalty back in the 70s. Calipari has never coached his way through anything. Cronin suspended his players and made Yancy come off the bench, in spite of the fact he was the only good big we had last year. I'm not sure what you expected, it's basketball not golf. Fights can and do happen. Grow up.

Mick said I'm gonna decide who's on the team when he should have kicked guys off the team for that fight. Also Mack should have kicked some of his guys off their team as well. Mick said we represent colleges of hirer learning, that's the political answer when coaches only care about winning games that's the real truth.

Great speech, but if it were true he would have followed up with the proper supsensions which they didnt come close. He will still have a full team for almost all of the Big East schedule.
