I'm there and let me tell you how hostile those dancers, especially Russians, are to real Latin people. Disgusting! Bottom line: lack of mutual respect.

Yes, as a ballroom and latin dancer, of course I do, there are those that compete in ballroom, and those that compete in latin american, latin american is a type of latin dancing, therefore there are latin dancers at the competitions, it's really as simple as that. As for Russians, most Russians I have met have had poor manners anyways regardless of whether they are dancers or not, what you are seeing there is just a typical Russian. However if you are going around telling them they aren't real latin dancers (which from your previous comment is obviously what you think) then you should not be surprised when they would be hostile towards you. You talk about mutual respect, yet talk about your latin dancers as "real latin people", obviously you do not respect the latin american category, but complain if they do not respect yours - you are just as disgusting as they are for lacking respect. However overall if you seriously can't get over the fact that there is a type of latin dancing which is different to your own, you need to sort out your priorities. There are much bigger and important things going on in the world that are far more important than the trivialities of naming different types of dance.

+DouradaBambina Europeans are the real Latin people man. France, Romania, Spain, Italy and Portugal are the original Latin countries, the rest were colonies. Also Ballroom or Dance Sport are quite popular in these countries. Anyway I prefer the Ballroom version of Samba, it's more elegant, more dynamic or flexible as it can be danced on bigger variety of songs. European Latin dancers don't need to do acrobatics for their dance to look impressive.

+ThatGuyAgen the funny thing is Latin American Samba or International Samba is way more popular. You go at a dance competition, WDSF for example and you see couples from France, Russia, Italy, Denmark, Ukraine, Moldova, Spain, UK, Germany, Slovakia, USA, China etc. etc.all competing on the same floor, it's a true international sport. High level samba is very hard to master, you don't need just technique but stamina, speed as well as charisma. Also it's not a static dance so you move a lot for one part of the dance floor to the other, to be honest I haven't see a Brazilian Latin dancer perform at the same physical and technical level as a Latin American dancer.

Isso é simplesmente a deturpação da cultura brasileira, usam e abusam da nossa cultura. O Samba foi criado no Rio de Janeiro, os grandes sambas foram escritos por brasileiros, logo é logico pensar que o padrão do samba tanto como musica quanto dança vir do Rio de Janeiro (no mínimo vir do Brasil). Dizer que o samba internacional nada tem a ver com o samba do Brasil, e como dizer que um estilo musical surgiu do ar. Se fosse qualquer ritmo de outro país europeu ou dos USA seria seguido o padrão criado pelos mesmo. Outro ponto se samba internacional não vem do samba e não tem nenhuma relação com samba nem deve se dar o nome disso de Open Latin, sem musica e ritmo latino não é latino americano. O que vocês fazem é pegar um genero latino qualquer enxer de floreio, mudar o ritmo até o negocio ficar com uma cara bem estrangeira mas deixa os nomes latinos só pra dar uma cara de exotico. Vocês nunca dançaram uma dança de salão na vida não é possível, isso parece mais salsa que samba

music is music. we dance any dance to any music, whether it is hip hop, 50's or 60's rock and roll. as long as the tempo/timing fits.

Вот именно . Я занимаюсь этими танцами , и мы в несколько раз медленнее танцуем . У меня тренер выступал со звёздами, и они заняли 3 место , просто потому что они в несколько раз медленнее танцевали чем все.
