I'm so happy for your newly expanded family. I think you already know that James and I have three cats: a feral momma cat who came into our house and adopted us when she was just 8 months old and pregnant with her first litter, and the 2 kittens she had. They add so much life, spirit, and love ❤️. Personally, I'm also so happy that you're taking things a bit more slowly too. I was seeing signs of burnout mixed with the frenetic pace of your 'sample not savor' travels. A sense of home is truly what keeps things in balance. Love the name Gretel... I've only seen your channel & been watching ya'll 4 a few months now & have enjoyed it immensely. But this new chapter is my fave 4 sure. I'm sooo happy you rescued a pet as there are so many in need. I rescue all our pets. It's the right thing 2 do. I have an unbelievable "double furry friend rescue story" that I must tell you another time. She is a very "blessed girl" 2 have you 2 4 her mommy & daddy! You are doing everything right 4 her. Cuddling, training, playing with her. Making her food is key as prepared dog foods are loaded with fillers & carcinogens, all things dogs don't need & should not have. The other key 4 a healthy dog is choosing the proper medical care team which you are also doing. Blessings to your little family. I can't wait see how you grow. ❤

Hi Claire & Chad...how's our little Princess Gretel today?

Living life as both a traveler and pet owner is not an easy one- let me tell ya'. I've had my cat for almost 15 years at this point- and in that time, she's lived in 8 countries with my girlfriend and I. Since she's our number one top priority, the length of trips, which airlines we've flown with (who allow pets in cabin) and even which countries we settled in, have been completely planned around her. Despite all that, she is one of the best things to ever happen to either of us. The love and joy that a pet can bring is just unimaginable. We are now settled in one spot because she is now over 18 years old, and has a terminal illness. As you guys begin this journey as pet owners and travelers, our lives will soon be changed- and we will begin a new chapter of our life as travelers. I would never tell someone not to get an animal- but I hope you are both prepared for how life-changing it really is. I know your plan is more local travel, with a few trips here and there...but when you do get that itch again, for longer trips and bigger adventures, it does make life a lot more difficult. Especially with a flat faced breed that may not be able to travel on every airline. Definitely don't mean any of this in a negative way, but as someone who has spent the past 15 years traveling with a pet/ as a pet owner, it's been quite the rollercoaster. 😂 Especially as your pet gets older, and develops various issues. It's quite the juggling act, trying to balance life at home with your pet, with time away to travel and film. Good luck on this new chapter!

You need to look up raw diet. Rotisserie chicken is bad for dogs. You may think cooking various meats is good for your dog. It isn’t. If a dog is going to eat meat it also needs calcium. Uncooked Chicken leg quarters ground up bones and all, is infinitely better for your dog than what you described.
