First 2 numbers “15” is the week it was produced and the next 2 are the year “86” So that was produced the week of march 23rd-29th in 1986.

At least for allied units the A is actually the month of manufacturing. So I think januray '86. Carrier could be different but allied has the same lay out. Model, year, letter, then the units number

a very important factor to consider when changing an air conditioning system; especially the air handler, is to verify the static pressure (sticker I.W.C old unit) with which the duct system was designed, select the speed of the fan blower so that it operates at the balance graphic point for the friction rate established in the calculation of the distribution ducts, otherwise, instead of obtaining better performance with the new unit, more energy consumption and loss of efficiency are generated.

We always use a flush kit. Much easier to clear liquids. I would worry if there’s a kink in the line, the plug would get stuck.

Aerosol pipe cleaners work just as well if not better IMO and no chance of getting the plugs stuck

that change out looks great went above and beyond. if it was a average installer , would have not relocated the condenser and have only left it alone never the less you'll did good for relocating the other condenser to have plenty of room to service it. HVAC installer here out of Nacogdoches,Tx

because the old unit is r22 and the new unit is r410 A and they are reusing the lineset so they had to clean it because you cant mix 410A with R22

Have you had any issues with the RLS fittings? Watching y’all use them is making me want to get the Milwaukee kit. Do you ever need to get the torches out anymore? Would you use it on coil replacement or other service repair?

No issues. I love pressing, but it doesn’t replace brazing. Both are needed.

@@QualityHVACR I ended up purchasing the Milwaukee m18 with Streamline ACR jaws. First job I planned on using it for (air temp condenser ) didn’t allow enough space. Haha brazing will always be a great backup, I’m just preparing for the new refrigerant and possibly flame free methods that might be required. Keep putting out great content, thanks for the reply 🤘💪

Apparently yes. There's a good trade show demo video on HVACschool channel i think. The plug (aka 'pig') is not relying on its initial momentum but rather it has all that nitrogen pressure backing it up all the way thru. Kind of like a bullet still in the barrel of a rifle.
