Months later he was in Tower Records shopping and the song came on. Two kids in front of him said, “Listen to this guy trying to sound like Eddie Van Halen.” He leaned over, tapped them on the shoulder and said, “That’s me!”

I went from being a 10 year old boy to an 11 year old man after watching this music video.

In 1984 I was a junior in high school and had just gotten a car for Christmas with a bada$$ stereo system! I get home from school blasting this song in the driveway. That intro drum part had my dad rushing out to see what was wrong with my car. HAHAHAHA. Nothing dad, that's Alex Van Halen.

There are many good guitar players that can never play Eruption and if they hear somebody else playing it they never fail to be impressed. He has always been a legend.
